I know there are many here who oppose a war with Iraq, but so far very few apolytoners have said before they want Iraq to win like David Floyd and Comrade Tribune have. I was wondering how many Apolytoners here agreed with those two....

That said, I think the chances of the America being defeated are very slim indeed. The best chances for that to happen would probably involve some sort of a pan-Arab alliance forming somehow. If the outgunned, outmanned, and seemingly, hopeless Iraqi army somehow managed to defeat America, it would be a true testament to the human spirit. A ragtag army of misfts defeating the most powerful empire in the history of world. I would never rule anything out and remember, that God loves an underdog.

Until the war is shown to be just on the part of the U.S. and allies (which it hasn't), any military action is unjust aggression. The unjust aggressors should always lose.

Should the situation change (someone magically produces something resembling a coherent just cause to attack Iraq), then of course the U.S. and allies should hopefully prevail.

In the event of the former scenario, I would count the death of every U.S. service person as a murder by Bush & Co. They will have been responsible for the unjust deaths of their own people, as well as Iraqis.

I truly do respect our servicemen, it is simply a matter of taking into consideration the betterment of the world as a whole. And in that light, I consider it to be better if a war of naked aggression was defeated. That said, I still pray that somehow war is averted, which is entirely the optimal scenario by far.
