	New Members from Lux? Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

As soon as our announcement went out, a thread was started by Aggie regardung what happens to the members from Lux. We could still use a player or two. Looking over their player list - I think the following would be OK:

CiverDan
BFM
ixnay

CiverDan I know fairly well from the ISDG and the SPDG. He knows his styff, and is very reasonable. BFM is also a solid individual, and has the same birthday as me. ixnay has already gone public asking to join a team.

I don't think we want more than theree - and maybe just two.

We should move fairly quickly on this.

Just got done reading the open forum...and yes, I have to agree - the international fallout over this has been rather light (thank God).

But BFM's last comment on "Lux members joining other teams" thread has me a bit worried...

I know BFM fairly well. I don't think he is particularly vindictive. This may just be Poly banter. I hope so. And I suggested him on my above list.

There is also a debate regarding a cooling off period, or not, for Lux members. see:

How do we feel about this? I am Ok with no cooling off period. Not sure what is gained. The world situation does not change a whole lot in two weeks, which is one of the suggested time periods. The other is a year.

BTW - I sent a quick note to CiverDan to see he was interested in joining. Hope you are OK with that, but he was the obvious one.

What about ixnay?

I don't know about CiverDan or ixnay. I will go along with what everyone else decides. The post by BFM concerns me. This post by bigfree1 also concerns me:

Quite frankly, he is right. According to the Portia Accord the treaty could only be voided if BOTH parties agreed.

I will go along with CiverDan and ixnay. No Trip. Unsure about BFM and bigfree1.

That is why we should avoid making any comments or getting involved in any discussions on this - lighthearted or otherwise. Public opinion is clearly not against us at this point in time. Lte's not provide any more ammunition one way or the other.

In all seriousness, I believe our FIRST priority now is getting the iron deposits hooked up and IMMORTALS created

Having Immortals running around will go a long way in stalling any attacks against us - at least at this time.

And seriously - I think we would be better off not getting into any verbal jousting over this in the public forums. Any way we rationalize it will be attacked, and we can only be on the defensive on this one. If it gets really nasty, we can release another public statement explaining our action in details.

I am also opposed to Lux publishing its view of history as suggested in one of the threads. No one gets a chance to refute it, and I am sure we will be painted in a negative light.

Calc II is looking for a home. Any thoughts? He bailed earlier from active involvement with the team - I think he and Trip had a falling out - so he may be OK. I don't know him that well.

So sizing up your members with capable players that can contribute to the game is important. While you may not like the sound of Lux members overwhelming Vox members either, it never hurts to have more than enough capable players in your team. Not all members in Lux was active, so make sure you get active members as well. Well, thats my advice. -Calc-

Calc mentioned BFM and statusperfect in his note. Both Jon and I have approached Calc. Jon has written BFM. And I have written statusperfect. Two of the three would be great.

btw - I told statusperfect we were also pursuing BFM and Calc.
