Person has to sing good live in order to be a good artist, but just because her song is made "good" thru recording studio shouldnt prevent you from buying what you like, if you like the sound of it. But to criticize the artist, not the composed music that you're hearing, I think testing the skill of an artist when singing live is quite important.
Music is art. Different people have different tasts. She doesnt suck just becaue she's a hypocrite about not being obsessed with self image like other pop artists etc... and shes not good just because she's popular either.
In the end, only thing that should matter to you is ONLY if you like what you hear. and thats it. Why would all other reasons matter? Any other reason to criticize music sounds retarded to me.
