No, this is all connected, but, for you, Iīll spell it out once more:

1- Israelīs occupation of somebody elseīs territory is the cause of Palestinian terror.

2- Israel wants to get rid of the Palestinians altogether, by 'transfer' = ethnic cleansing.

3- Expelling all the Palestinians is only possible among the chaos of a major war.

4- An American war against Iraq, or perhaps against the entire Middle East, is exactly what Israel needs and wants.

Very much so. I think this was the point he was trying to make. Siro's post was beautiful, and made me realise that there is another side (I tend to be far more pro-Palestine) but all this flaming, editing and banning of people because they want to point out the flip-side of this. About keeping politics out of this thread. If you're going to talk about the issue, the bombing of a bus by Palestinian terrorists, it is inherrantly political IMHO.

I think what happened was awful. A terrible act, that not only killed many people, but that put back the peace process. I think, while condemning terrorist acts such as this, we should also look at the cause. I feel exactly the same about the IRA. Yes they commit horrific atrocities, and they are not justified IMHO, but they do have a reason for doing it. I think the world should look at the underlying reasons for an act, before unilaterally condemning it. I'll stop before I go too off topic, I'll leave that to politics threads. Just my opinions, i felt there needed to be some voice in support of CT, even if I disagree with what he said.

The worst part is no end in sight, there are many in the region to whom killing and revenge is the BEST thing they got going. There is so much pain and anger on all sides, and so little in the way of constructive outlet for them, leaving only more violence as the release of choice. Many of the two side and their various factions view the other as evil incarnate. Is so sad. Hope for peace is forlorn, particularly for the Israelies faced by such fanatisim, that I would not invest major resources of my country in the vain pursuit of it. The populations there have my pity, and an occaisional prayer, but I can offer them no hope, only condolences. The burden of waiting all the time to hear of the next violoent death that affects you must take a terrible toll on your life.

On a different note, those who find managing their ignore list a tedious subject, I have a shortcut for you

Siro~ you earned your universe points and then some with this fitting tribute. It brought tears to my eyes. So many times we over here don't see how good we have it until something like this gives us pause and an opportunity to be greatful for our lives and the lives of our familes. I will be extra careful to remind the people in my life how much I love them and care for them thanks to you and your reminder of the fact that we never know. You may be in your car or on a bus as this poor child was........but you just never know.
