Discussion thread.

OK everyone. Throw in your predictions for what the 3 barb warriors will do. The closest to correct in all respects wins an all expense paid trip to the jungle and back again.

The one on the game (Hewy) will attack W1. So too will the one on the northern plains (Dewy). Louie (the one on the southern plains) will move 2.

We will have a veteran warrior at the start of next turn.

By the way, now that we have Pottery, we can switch production in Apolyton to Granary (not something we want to forget!).

On final thing: let me be the first to say that the northern lands are crap. The Game on the Plains is more of an insult that anything else.

That game will atleast help. He should have the warrior check out both points, to see if we can see any bonus coastal/sea and maybe some nearby land.

My predictions:

Two of the barbs will attack (from the east), one will move south.

I also predict that we will get a Settler from the southern hut! (What do I get for that prediction notyoueither?)

EDIT: Our warrior will not be killed.

Hehe, I agree with E_T and Dominae also.

Luckily they're far enough away so that we can whack them all before they get too close to Apolyton to cause any trouble.

Yes, don't forget to do this. I think I remember reading somewhere that if you're building a granary your more likely to recieve a Settler than a another free unit.

I believe the chances of getting a Settler are lower if you are producing one, but it is not dependent on improvements.

It's an indirect effect that building a granary gives more chance(s) at getting a Settler from a hut. (You may even be basing this off something I said) Actually having a Granary as the current build shouldn't have any effect on the hut outcome.

Building a Granary first means we don't get Settler 1 out as early, and don't really catch up in number of cities until #3 or #4 in depending on terrain. Since a requirement of getting a Settler from a hut is to have <= the number of cities / number of civs, this often gives a longer window of opportunity to get Settlers from a hut.

I can already feel the undying hatred my advice will bring, but the best place for a possible Settler from the S hut would be 88 from the hut.

The 2 northern barbs will attack, the southern will move S. Warrior BetaHound will survive and become veteran.

Is this a one person trip or can I take someone with me (and leave in the jungle )

Btw, AFAIK you can't get a settler if you are producing one, but I don't think it has anything to do with building granaries.

I also think the northern two will attack. but only because they can't move away from our warrior this turn. The southern one will move away.
