I think what upsets me the most is sitting there for at least half an hour every Friday night with newbie Trev, an astonishingly good find, excellent player, and feeling acutely embarrassed that we got him in a game and now none of the regulars can find the time to finish it.

Of course the other frustration is that I'm now in a position to hurt deity in every saved game and I'm not getting the opportunity to inflict the pain he so richly deserves.

I also worry, knowing his past history, that Hydey won't show up again because he's been attacked in a couple of games. He always pikes it when attacked.

I know he was away for the two weekends after the dinner. I think that brings things up to last weekend.

Civving should be serious. One game/time spot, not several running in parallel. A game group should consist of serious reiable players, that plays seroius Civ. And seroius Civ is 1x1x deity and nothing else! Games should be played to end. Players that changes priorities after they have got trouble in the games are not serious, that's it - DON'T play them!

I agree about Trev but don't try and make out that it's just you two showing up. You, me and Trev have been consistently showing up. (I was in invisible mode last night but talking to Trev) finbar and Hydey have not been showing up lately

I think I have my annual Poker Night this Friday night. I should be around Thursday night and for the weekend nights.

Tomorrow night I continue my game with my French mate from the OT rugby thread. I foolishly let him get way ahead in science while I wiped out the AI civs! I've been having to steal techs from him left, right and centre.

You're right, Deity, stealing techs does do wonders for the lustre of one's hair. Saves a sh*tload on shampoo.
