I feel detached Tired of ads?

I have read some threads where people where saying that they
thought the game was playing itself without them, I thought to
myself what a bunch of moaners. How wrong was I ?

So I read the manual and some guides that had been written.
I do some initial settings to development plans and then basically
sat back and watch as I press the turn button and then follow
sitrep reports. Apart from initiating diplomacy and recruiting spies
I feel quite detached from the game.

I can't put my finger on it but I don't feel like I'm actually effecting
the game very much. Personally I think it's down to the fact that
the game is so complicated and having no playthrough tutorial
leaves you baffled by most things so you must rely on the Ai to
help you. But that doesnt give you much faith as so many have
reported about the bugged AI.

Lets hope some of you guru's out there can write a good in-depth
tutorial that can take some of us novices through the majority of
the game.

Got spare money?

Go to www.orionsector.com and check out their download section. There's a good tutorial in the updated encyclopedia. And fiddle with the settings; at first I didn't feel like I was doing much but the more I learn about how things work the more involved I felt and the more active a hand I could take.

Tired of ads?

I agree, i was sooo confused at 1st. I have about 30 hours under my belt now, and even still i suddenly look at something and think *damn* so thats what that does...or how could i be so dumb not to realise i could do this and that.

Stick with it, its worth it, just hope the patch that has upgradeable ships and a really challenging AI is out soon

Support Apolyton

I agree about information suddenly "dawning" on you when you realise what things actually do, but i feel that its still lacking. The main two problems i have with the game is the lack of any meaningful feedback/information to the player and the AI (mostly the AI of other Empires, though sometimes domestic AI).

In my opinion, though it is flawed from the outset, give it time, and it may become understandable. And that time will at least give certain people time to make patches
