Anyone who has been through the ringer in the SPDG will understand perfectly why I say official polls and trying to apply too many rules to polls is a 'garbage'. It may not be so in this game yet, I don't know I am relatively new here, but just take a looky at the SPDG court thread and youll see allot of simple garbage that people argued simply to get their own way.

I have no doubt that this game is a team effort, I wouldn't have joined otherwise. However, I don't see how the paper would be the same. Even with allot of submissions SOMEONE has to put it together, organize the people doing the submitting and take the time to put it together in an organized and effective manner. Any number of people who have helped me in the past can tell you it usually takes at least 10 hours to put out each edition between writting, finding links, and organizing. If I feel that I want to run it in a way I see fit since I would be the one doing the work, I feel I have the right to do so, I am sorry you see it otherwise.

I sat and took some of this same abuse in the SPDG. I made every attempt to please the most people possible, yet there were those that continued to berate me in private. As of late, though, everyone there had finally come to terms and realized how fun and informative the project was and what it added to the game. I am not about to go through that whole process again here, though. I am not better than anyone else, and I don't have time for this type of garbage here.

I joined specifically to write a paper. I am not about to argue the most insignificant points until people finally understand it though, I no longer have that much drive. I therefore resign from writting the paper, you can find some other team effort to do that for you.

Since my original reason for joining the game is now gone, I resign from it as well. Guess I'll just focus on getting a new SPDG going instead.

Good luck everyone and don't worry, I don't have time to go around revealing anything I have learned up to now.

This was just a very minor misunderstanding that grew into a monstrous "problem"...

bigfree1, your simple question was answered (even if not with yes/no), if I read the following lines correctly:

UnOrtho, AFAIK, bigfree1 has never questioned you were free to name the paper whatever you wanted. He just oversought the answer that was part of your response to Randolph. And then it all started... as you somehow assumed bigfree1 was not fine with you naming the paper whatever you wanted, adding unnecessary stuff about YOUR poll and poll "garbage" and such, instead of just repeating the answer already given.

The rest was just the most unlucky escalation of the initial oversight/misunderstanding. Would both of you calm down, please?

We are 80 in this team, and you are totally unfair with 79 of us. You have accomplish enough to forgive after receiving apologies.

This Gazette would have been a new challenge, and those who do not know you will think that you give up at the first occasion. But we understand that it is really time consuming to make an issue of the Gazette, and I believe that one every other week would be just perfect.

The team spirit results from the members attitude, but we experienced in the demogame that the Gazette had an enormous influence on it. And the Gazette it is you.

I remember reading a long time ago about something related to psychology: Basically, it took something like 17 compliments/positive remarks to cancel out 1 negative remark.

So I think we're at 8 or so positives now? I'd like to add my comment and say that Unortho just absolutely rocks. :P Anyways Unortho, stick around and have fun. It's impossible to please everyone all the time. Hell, even if you don't have the drive to do the paper, at least continue being a member of the game. I always thought it was a pleasure to work under you and Mr WIA and your skills for getting people and things organized are second to none.

Anyways, I think I speak for everyone here when I say that I hope you reconsider.

UnOrthOdOx don't go, your paper was one of the best things about the SPDG it really built a sense of community. I know this game would not be the same without it.

UnOrthOdOx - please stay. Yes, the paper is key. But more importantly, you are an integral part to this team.

Please reconsider. It would mean a lot to your Poly teammates. And as this looks like a really interesting ride of a game, please don't make a decision in haste that you may regret later.

Having done that recently in a - er - the other game, I know of what I speak.
