	How do I get contact with these people?? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I am pretty sure I have located a Human system, but even when I just send in a little scout ship and don't attack, they attack me! Any suggestions?

You need a colony within two starlanes of one of their colonies in order to establish diplomatic contact. You don't need to have explored the two starlanes however, oddly enough. In the game I'm playing now, I made contact with one of the bug races through a system with a Guardian in it, even though I had no clue what was on the other side of the Guardian. In fact, as near as I can tell, noone else had a path into their empire either.

Yep. One of my colonies kept losing population (no good reason at all), then I finally lost colony status around 300 peeps or so? The following turn I lost contact with two races

You should lose colony status when you drop below 1000.

Food shortage?

People don't just get up and leave unless they have a good reason...

They loose colony staus if they ae under 1000 as what mentioned. Pop will drop for amny reason. Food shortages caused by lack of surplus food or a blockade is the most common.

It gained colony status by migration, at 1000, it remeined a colony until about 300. Personally that makes sense, except 300 is quite low. I'd say better numbers would be gain at 1000, lose at 800.
