We should settle in the most valuable places first, which means the Ivory and Spices, whichever of the two is easier to get to. Other nations will covet land with Ivory and Spices, which are so valuable that people will gladly travel long distances to get to them. They are not so likely to covet land which is next to Madrid when there is similar land quite a bit closer to their own civ.

He also spoke to me about his wish to serve Spain fron the government of one of the new cities. I'm sure señor Nuclearis Winterius would be a good governor. He has always been loyal to Spain.

I agree that luxuries sites should be our priority at the medium place. Not sacrifice everything just to get that luxuries, but have this in mind and expand toward this areas because they are the places where ND or GoW galleys are more suitable to try to settle

That's exactly what I mean señor Plaguerat. settling too far just to try to grab a luxury we won't be able to defend would be a bad idea. Of course, we must have the luxuries as a goal and settle towards them.

Start with the Tamali flats, then work our way through the wheat fields towards the Ivory plains. As Ricardo said we have to be able to defend the lands we settle. Look the ruins to the North, that is what well become of our cities if we do not.
