Yes you can edit your own factions for the original SMAC. You can edit faction.txt and then save the file to the name you want. It's kind of difficult at first. There are some programs that allow you to edit factions ACEdit, but I don't know if it will work on a MAC. If you have to edit the text manually, faction.txt does come with some instructions. And I cant remember where, but there are some faction editing guides on the net. Apolyton has an editing section I think, and their are others I just can't remember the URLs.
If anyone knows about online guides for editing factions, can you post the links?
