In Search Of A Renaming Tool Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

I need a renaming program to rename countless files that I have in a number of folders, the thing is that I need a utility that can REPLACE the name of the files with a 4 digit number (0001.txt, 0002.txt, 0003.txt, etc...).

I tried download.com and stuff and none of them can do this simple thing, since all they do is APPEND the number to the existing file name.

Does anyone know of a program that will just replace the name with a number? I've spent the past 4 hours trying to find one and decided to ask here.

You want a program that automatically renames the file in each individual folder to 0001, 0002, etc? Seems to be too specialised.

Trying to organize your porn? I know there are programs that will do that for pictures, atleast. I can't say I know the name of it, though.

This is what you are looking for. Here you can search for any file types and then add the entire folder or just the files you want.
