The Third Gulf War
The 3rd Gulf War was of the utmost signifigance to early 21st century America. Upon the discovery of record gas and oil reserves off the coast of Louisana, ttensions rose rapidly between Texas and the rest of the states touching the gulf.
The incident that started the war occured on October 17th, 2012, when a company of Texas National Guardsmen siezed Oil Rig # 129B, then the largest in the world. Louisana, Mississippi, and Alabama then issued an ultimatum; withdraw or face the combined LAMIAL National Guard. One week later, the deadline had passed and LA Guardsmen using those swamp hovercraft thingies stormed the Rig.
As a result, The 1st Texas Guard Brigade invaded and seized Shreveport, looting, pilleging, and generally spending a lot of time in it's many casinos.
On November 1st, Grand Poobah Perot stated "This will not stand", but congress refused to give funding to prevent a war from erupting, as it was rather humorous to see the Deep South fighting each other.

Yeah, Texas... Lead by it's new president Jeb Bush, and the founding mothers; The Dixie Chicks...
They will take over Mexico, realize that was a mistake, hike up the gas prices on California, who will, in turn, declare themselves independent of the US under some liberal, commie (most likely a Gray Davis clone) and attack Texas-Mexico. Since most Mexicans live in California, California will undoubtedly win, thanks to all our robots.
