Madrid build queue Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

The Madrid Governor is missing. Ther servants have looked for him everywhere but he doesn't appear.

Meanwhile, we found the city is run by some low level bureaucrat and had to take control of it. The thing is that not only Diego Clemente is missing, but also all his carefully plans on how to administrate the city. Currently we are thinking about building horsemen or settlers there, but have a difficult time finding good reasons towards one or another option. Personally I find that sending settlers out of Madrid would help our empire grow, but some horsemen would be very usegul to improve our military strength, so I'm still trying to decide about that.

Madrid will grow in 6 and build a horseman in 3 ... however, it'll have extra sheilds and I'm going to try to change production next turn for max growth. Will check next turn.

Right now Madrid is under control of my Cousin. He's well meaning and keeping things in line, but his inexperience at city management and Madrid IS the finest city in all of Spain ....

So whatever suggestions the nobles and experience city governors have for Madrid, please feel free to propose.

I demand 3 Horsemen in the Madrid queue. With the current in production one, it'll make 4 Horsemen in a few turns. And we'll upgrade 4 vet warriors in the next same few turns. In the meanwhile, Madrid will grow and will be ready to build a new settler very soon.

I understand the REX need, but Spain can no longer live with only a defensive army. And Madrid is the only city at the moment able to build military vet units in a short time.

more cities = more

Get the idea out of your head that Pamplona can do it alone; Pamplona is not your b*tch

This ridiculous arms race and exaggerated sense of paranoia has put us in the red. We are losing money on every unit we build now.... unless we build more CITIES! TADA! ...FYI, we can support more units with more cities. Perhaps, this is the answer to our problems. Let's not stop at 6.

Señor ruby_maser,

Beleave me, it's not easy for me to demand that Madrid does continue to build military units. But the Spain security is as important as the Spain development.

We know that ND has swordmen, they know that we don't have.

They know that we will have iron to sell to GoW soon, and they know that if this occurs, they will be consequently whiped out of the continent .

If I was the ND leader, I would plan an attack against spain, the main threat for they at the moment.

The military advisor is clear : despite the fact that we are continously building military units, we always are average with ND. If we stop doing that, it will give ND a clear sign that we are in REX again, and that we are weak again. Without some attack units, I don't want that.

We have to balance out our expansion with building up our military. Once the iron is connected and we upgrade to swords and have 4 horsemen, we will be able to almost any ND attack, remember we already have 4 spears in our cities closer to ND. We have to keep building new cities at a regular clip though, otherwise unit support costs will grind military production and our research to a halt. We can't think about and offensive buildup untill we have additional cities.

Got spare money?

Our spies have brought us some infomation that could be relevant for this discussion.

It seems that the population of Neu Demogyptica and Glory of War has decreased in the last times (OOC: their score have an small fall. Probably due to the building of a new settler). This missing citizens could have been sent to found new cities somewhere.

Hey, I'm not demanding 4 settlers from Madrid. I'm asking for 1. With the city's considerable production value, it can do so quickly and rebound quickly. It could then easily go back to doing whatever the hell it wants to.

We have Iron in something like 3-4 turns. We have warriors to upgrade immediately. We have a non-aggression pact with a group of by-the-book Germans. We have military advisor telling those guys we have parity with them. And we have an extremely good deterrent in the city they would most likely covet, Santiago. Maybe someone is holding on a little too tight. Stand down, captain

We will finish the current Horseman in Madrid, build another, and then build a settler, then spear.

Saragossa will build a Horseman once the Barracks are complete.

The Madrid settler will take the Madrid Garrison with it for protection while Madrid builds a new (veteran) garrison.

A splendid, wise choice, dear Lord and King.

We do lose money with every unit, but as pointed out, the Neu Demogypticans have the reasons to destroy us, the power to destroy us, and the chance to destroy us. This is their chance. Unless we can maintain a large enough army to save our country, we will fall in oblivion. We cannot allow this. Spain must survive. It MUST survive. Otherwise the squid trade will collapse!! Ummm...I mean...

Perhaps you are right, Señor Hernan. However, since our Great Leader is obviously in the spirit of compromise, perhaps he will decree that REX-lovers are to be compensated with the power to edit other team members posts to correct the spelling of their names. I would accept this as a fair deal.

This compromise is a good one and a very wise choice from our Great Despot.

I also like the idea of using a spearman from Madrid to protect the new settler and replace it inmediately, instead of waiting for a new spearman to be build. This will speed the construction of the new city by a few (but crucial) galactic cicles (OOC: Turns).

Perhaps, some day we will all be granted this priviledge.
