What a great group of guys. So they kidnapped a 50 year old mother and tied explosives around her neck. Then they put her on national tv and detonated the explosives, decapitating her.

IF this is the particular case I'm thinking of, it turned out it wasn't really the FARC, but common criminals instead (Sorry Ted, if that's the case...).

However, let it be known that they've done a dozen things equal or worse to what he's describing...

You guys should take a look at the HRW reports where they mention the FARC, and not just keep skipping over those parts, for once.

EDIT: And btw, according to the World Bank's Paul Collier, European companies have been funding the FARC/ELN through ransom money (something like 1000 million dollars (!) ), so don't pretend it's only the U.S. that funds violence down in Colombia....

The American media isn't very good on Columbia. They to merely repeat what is handed to them without doing any investigation. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but I want to see some sources first.
