Question about Prices Full PM-box? Change here!

I'm looking at different retailers and they all price the game 39.99
except when I go trought drengin.net, which direkts me to
link
which states a price of 34.90, I'm not quite sure how they reach that number but okay.

now at galciv.com, the price is 44.95 for direct download

my question is if the webbased sales companies will raise their prices or if it really is more expensive to order it directly from galciv.com?

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I believe the direct download price is going to be slightly more expensive than the retail one. I'm not sure why--you'd think that the savings of packaging expenses would mean a lower price. Draginol, why is the download price more, out of curiosity?

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

All owners can download a copy at any time direct from Stardock. The higher price was to encourage us to support their retail efforts, but buying direct will give the developers 3 times the money to help support it. Buying Drengin Net will help them out the most, and get you all the games for $70 (+5 if you want the CD shipped to you in addition to the download option).

As much as I am tempted to pre-order, and as much as I am confident that this is really going to be a game I love, I am going to practice restraint and wait to see some reviews before buying it. I think I've finally gotten over my "MUST BUY IT NOW NOW NOW!" habit and am able to hold off until making sure the game isn't a dud.

Still, given the beta testers response and what I've seen in the gameplay examples, I don't see how I could fail to love this game.

This is the first game I've ever preordered.

Put an end to popups!

Actually, I can only think of 2 times that I've preordered. Most recently, I preordered Hearts of Iron, but it was so slow in coming that I bought it in the stores instead and then cancelled the order.

The first instance was when I was in college, and I preordered what I was certain would be the most incredible, awesome game ever... Star Wars: Rebellion.

But I do tend to rush out the very first day a game is released and buy it from the stores if I really want it. But I think recent experiences have dulled that urge, and I really practiced restraint with MOO3.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Heh, I think I've gotten most of the 'must have it NOW' coodies out of my system too. Mostly because of the crapware that I keep getting duped into buying, like PoO3.
