Azazel, Income tax only is about 45% if you make normal living. But we tax everything else hard too. Means you don't get very much money in your hand and everything is expensive. VAT is 22% and included in everything etc etc etc etc..

Adoption rates are slower because it's a different environment. Landlines are so much more affordable in NA than in places like Asia or Europe.

Cell phone use is still incredibly high in the 15-25 demographic though, regardless of if the cranky geriatrics are adopting them.

Asher, I thought I'd ask you, if you're here already:

I have a prolem with my sound card now, it stops working for some time, and then returns. I fear some sort of hardware clash, yet the device manager says that "the device is working properly" for both the modem, and the sound card.

Just as I've been writing this, the sound card returned to life.

It can dissapear just as fast. what's the problem?

"use cell phones" does not mean phone ownership. The number of people actually using phones "Regularly" is 31.1% and I don't know how does that compare to europe, and definetly the developed far east.

We're talking phones per person.

But that doesn't matter, really.

It didn't ask if people have ever used a cell phone, it asked if they use cell phones.

The vast majority of people that use cell phones do it because they own one, no? At least I don't know of any people who use cell phones without owning one.

I own a cell phone and I'd say I occasionally use it, not regular...
