512kbps.

And the house I stay in at uni doesn't have an optic cable connection; we do, however, possess copper wire technology, allowing blistering speeds of 56kbps .

True. The dorms do have cable connections which are ridiculously fast, but I moved out of there after the first semester because, frankly, I hated living there.

The net connection was the only thing I missed.

My broadband connection at home is only 128kps, but it's more than enough to surf the forums and download a few mp3's.

A much faster one would be nice, but the cost/benefit ratio isn't enough to justify it yet.

I think our 128kps is around £20 a month, but the cost is a little blurred since it is part of the combined phone/DigitalTV/internet package we get.

Azazel, tell me about it . Big corporations robbing us and not even being ashamed. But it's that or ISDN which would cost even more... though I'm now changing my system to 1mbit wlan.. costs only 40 euros per month, I think that's a bit expensive too, but it's not that bad. 60 euros for 512 is too much. And no, it does not include the phone. Just the connection.

I just rechecked the prices.. well just opening the connection costs 126 euros (!!!!), and if you need someone to install the adsl stuff for you, it costs 65 euros more. 2mbit connection would cost 120 euros per month, 4 mbit 390 euros per month. You still need to pay for the ISP (which in this case is the same one, nice way to rob more). This includes crappy service.. NO support for Linux, so if you have problems and you call to tech support (costs few euros per minute, open only office hours) and you have Linux they say 'sorry, we only support windows'. Nice service huh? You'd think paying that money would get you decent service, not even mentioning FRIENDLY service. This is one of the biggest ISPs here. I HATE THEM!
If you guys have few extra bombs, I wouldn't mind if they'd accidentally dropped them here.

Making more? We make ok, but taxing is so hard that our actual income is bad. Everything is super expensive.
