Protecting the Eastern Lands Full PM-box? Change here!

We have discovered the 'peninsula' on the east side of our continent. CDG very likely has no clue about the existence of this land. If it is really a peninsula, and the sea with the whale is connected to ocean, then GameCatcher also knows nothing about its existence.

The lands might turn east at the northern shore, meaning a 4th civ can be located there.

I say we turn this into our advantage.

CDG has asked for some division of the lands. A line or a radius. Can we somehow agree to something like this, before they scout it out (i.e. go to a shore tile)? Of course, the entrance of the peninsula should be on our side of the border. We should also make sure that no scout wanders NE-ward, so that if there are civs and/or goody huts, we'll have them for ourselves.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

I also think it is our big advantage long-term. If we could get their scouts to stop where they were and not travel that way (say, we negotiate a line that neither of us can move scouts across), then this will be a huge advantage to US instead. We had a line drawn up which would have given us the entrance, but they can fit a city in on their side of the line which would make things difficult.

Increase Your PM Length

In this light, it wouldn't be that bad if we need to stall w'BigFree for two turns - he is blocking a tile from which the Eastern Lands can be seen!

Tired of ads?

If they do much more scouting, they'll be able to see the shores of that arm of the continent from their own. It may be more difficult to get them to agree at that point, especially if we continue to trapse around in the vicinity of the capital and explore further south.

With Arnold nearby, I don't think their forces are quite so big to allow them much of a look at the peninsula, if one at all.

However, the possibility exists that their Warrior near our capital (if it exists, which it must, since they know the distance between our capitals) could wander east, which is bad, especially since THEY would be the first to explore it, and not us. I think that is unacceptable. They would get any and all goody huts, and they would get contact with anyone first. We must stop their explorations if possible.

Well, if we can get a treaty out of them, then we should aim to get as much as possible they don't know about, including this peninsula.

is this being written in to our agreement in the form of a demarcation line?
