In a city I wouldn't be a problem, but I live pretty far out
and their are'nt many mainframe computers out here, (also not many programmers willing to be out here.)
Nearest college is 60 miles (nightschool sucks at that distance) and we have gotten a "new management style
" at work, which works out to be don't spend any money and harass the employees to make up for short staffing.
Well, they're really going to be short-staffed in 2 weeks

Yup, or Form a union, in a big shop.
This is a small shop, was 5 programmers, 3 Techs
now 1 (me), soon zero. That leaves the manager,
(who can't program even a query) and the operators.
4 Programmers and 3 techs quit.
Think they would have clued in about 2 or 3.

We've had 6 managers in 4 years.
3 ex-programmers - quit
2 shopforemen/project managers -fired
Big crosshairs on #6 on.
They asked me twice, but my terms are too... unpalatable.
