Hmmh. I've only read this topic. Is there some place where you are referring to when talking the Ras as the 'big bad guy'?
Rasbelin -- > That "I don't care about what you think, because it's boring" tactic works for a while. That means, for the first 5 days you're registered. Now it doesn't, anymore.
quote: (especially Ming who started to ***** at me). |
You know, if he hasn't been flaming elsewhere, he's correct. Try to keep a little nicer attitude to avoid this bs, mods...
...is it possible to ban someone for... something like 6 hours? It's 00:52 AM here.
EDIT:
If someones should get a PCR, those are MrMitchell, Taz and BigCrunch
EDIT2:
quote: What did I do????
I'm genuinely a SMAX nut (Still playing even) and I'm very sad that Stella Polaris has died. I thought Rasbelin opened the thread for precisely that kind of sentiment...
Obviously you know better
Well, I'm still sad... |
(1) Notice the .
(2) If you really took it seriously, you could've tried to keep the thread on-topic by PMing me...
(3) If you ARE a SMAX-nut who has been waiting StP, you have been checking the StP-forums, right? Well, if you have been watching them, this shouldn't be a big surprise to you, right?
quote: Obviously no-one is allowed to display any consternation at how this thread has gone and the StP site has crashed. |
Yes. Thank you for expressing it in 2 1-line posts inside 3 minutes.

Umm... Ras has often been 'overboard' in the past, but:
quote: Dan and Markos, despite you did help much with some publicity and the StP forum, you should understand that I'm a dissatisfied customer and feel ignored by you as you have failed to properly deliver The Column writings in a reasonable time, rather than releasing a redundant text in January that was written in early September. You should have concidered more seriously the offers of help with editing The Column feature. I'm also wondering what happened to the revised edition of the Alt.Civs guide which included StP and would have been useful for PR. And where are the Game Development Teams Civgroups I suggested and did the background work for, 4 months ago? I assume you're too busy creating DG Civgroups and some even more urgent RoN beta tester Civgroup. And Markos, don't come and say I'm rude. If someone is rude, then it's you as you seem to have put very little interest in these small things you have promised to do. All this could have boosted our visibility on Apolyton. I even recall an affiliation agreement that we would be somehow visible here, but I assume it's not in your interest. Thanks to Solver for showing greater interest towards the project than any other staff member.
|
quote: Yeah Yeah Yeah... take your cheap and uncalled for shots at MarkG and DanQ.
They were nice enough to provide your team with a place on their site... Do some promotional efforts for you, and your response is to stab them in the back.
It's too bad they might not have given you everything you wanted... but for you to insult them because of that is just lame at best. Instead of giving them thanks for the support they did provide, you whine like a stuck pig.
It seems like the problems with your project are self inflicted... to even hint that you might have succeeded with a little more PR from this site is absurd at best.
When I first saw the thread title, I was saddened to see that another excellent project and idea was falling by the wayside.
But after reading your attacks against people that at least gave you some support... I now don't really care.
To take a line from you... You will probably just post that I'm being rude... And frankly, I don't care... because you have shown to be ungrateful to people who gave you some support.
With an attitude like that, it's no surprise your project went down in flames. |
Way to go, Ming! It's good that we have a mod who starts posting personal insults in the Community-forum
...remember, I don't know the whole story, altough I've been watching StP-project pretty closely in the past...

Wow, after seeing that this official statement was made and all of the posts. Here is what I have to say, as one of the most active and dedicated members of Stp (I have analyzed the situation and came to this conclusion...):
Rasbey, You said on SPF that the project will go on. But now without notifing the team you kill the project. - Unfair.
I object to this decision and had confidence in your decision making but now that has to be re-evaluated. Please let this project go on or if you dont want it to then at least let someone else take command. Like you have stated before you dont own the project so you shouldn't do the decision making by yourself. It should be a Democracy where we vote and we did do that and the vote was "keep it alive".
(My Opinion and it is shared by a whole bunch of people.)
After your banning me from FreeAC Blake put me back and I'm grateful and our differences were stopped and we got along. I wish you good luck now as you have ruined your reputation greatly. I dont want to fight with you as its pointless to fight with insults. It will get us nowhere. Now if you aren't able to keep up the work with StP, then I will take command. I will and that doesn't bother me, I know you dont think I'm capable of doing mangement but I can be a leader and a manager will be apointed. I can apoint various members for the head people. I wont let this project die. Many projects out there are handeled by one person alone and it goes on slowly but surely. Now with a team it goes by faster and better so I think your decisions are'nt good enough.
Now I understand that you were pressured and didn't know any other way to back away from the pressures other than killing the project off. But you should have appointed someone else instead of killing it. There you made a problem. Now if you will please release the files I will be very happy. I dont wish to provoke a fight as stated before I merely want a great project to be kept. I'm going to have a vacation soon in one day and it'll last for a week so I will be able to do alot of planning and work on the re-construction of the project. I will also welcome and appreciate support from the Apolyton team members and I will not insult any of the staff as I have not done to any other person. I'm a neutral person, a person that only wishes to be good with people.
The Team is keen to work and people like Joeno will be be put onto the team. When and if I take charge I will let the team make decisions for themselves, I will not let this project go down I have lots of ideas and I even once considered on developing a game and figured this project will give me the experiance needed. I am up to the task but I do not plan on doing it on my own, I need people like you, people that are dedicated to doing this project as much as I am, people that wont quit when the going gets rough. This project will survive, it will strive, it will become a great project that people will rememeber in a community of awesome gamers.
**Sidnotes:
- Vovan for personal reasons wasn't able to do the code, I wont disclose this information because that would be a violation of personal privacy. I understand fully that he couldn't do it but tried under heavy circumstances. I give him a plus for doing that.
- If Rasbey wont release the information from SPF then we have to rebuild the project from the ground up and it will be a huge hard task but the task is worth taking.
- I wish to be neutral so please no insults.

Whatever opinions Ras has about what happened, I don't care.
I want to thank Dan + Markos for keeping the project alive a few months more. Without their continued support of the project, we would have been dead from the falling of the old FreeAC fora. It takes a hell of a lot of time to maintain a site as succesful as Apolyton, and a hell of a lot of effort. Regardless of Ras' opinions, you helped the best you could, and it's made me respect you as site owners a lot.
To the coders, **** happens. Some of you pumped your hearts into the idea, like bunnies overcharged with adrenaline, but for outside factors, your work was unrewarded, and all contributed to a dream. The dream may not have been reality, but we had a go. And that's what matters in the end.
To those interested: Thanks. Support is what was needed, but ultimately we as a team failed. We're sorry. That's all we can say...
As Ras said, "from ashes to ashes, from dust to dust", but maybe like the phoenix we can rise from those ashes and return in another form.
Don't blow the candle 'til the last patron's left the bar. And I hope we haven't even reached last orders yet

Let's get some quality into this thread as it will be closed soon as per my request.
Zealot,
you are right, but the comments did aim abit too high.
HT,
no comments as you're taking advantage like usually.
Ming,
read or don't read the PM by me. I hope you choose the first option.
As for the rest, the StP forum will be closed soon and the discussions will continue on SPF. New plans will be made and somekind of decisions will be then taken. I have also explained and elaborated the past 24 hours events to Dan , Markos and the StP audience. Those wo were insulted or just involved in this thread have received their very sincere appologies or they're just about to get it.
Briefly I went indeed nuts after reading Joeno's nosy comments and saw that Ming was once again starting to bicker at me, so ever since that until I went to bed I was berserk and indeed very angry. However I never went insane or in a Zylka mode as I can be calm and angry at the same time. However I did have some great deal angst when reading the first replies. Hueij however was indeed right. None the less, I offer my very sincere appology to the public audience and hope that we can get over this. I know that the hawk party had fun and will forever remember this, but I can concider that as their loss if they can't get over it and show some understanding. Especially HT and Ming will like their potshots, but I will not pay attention to that ego enlarging stuff. However I will public make the sidenote that this hasn't been much worse than your party in Chicago.
None the less I hope the rest of you are more friendly and after reading the details, at least concider one day forgiving me.
The Stella Polaris Forums are now online, so those who were interested and previously discussed about the future, can move over there. I have reposted Ari's message, so the discussion can continue from that.
