Since your head is planted so far up your butt, I'd think you'd realize that hindsight is 20/20.

It was pretty obvious at the time that the response was pretty weak.

They blew up two US Embassies.

Clinton hits them with a fly swatter.

Hitting two embassies in Africa where the vast majority of the victims were African isn't going to galvanize American support for major military operations, and indeed it didn't. Clinton did what was feasible given the circumstances. You still seem to be willfully ignoring the fact that he had done more than any other president up until that point to combat terrorism, and he would have been able to do more had the GOP not poo-pooed his concerns.

Honestly, you're just sounding like a Rush Limbaugh dittohead now, blaming Clinton for everything possible.

No, the bottom line is that he did what he could feasibly do, given GOP limitations on his anti-terrorism proposals.

The bottom line is that Republicans stymied antiterrorism efforts out of partisan politics. Shame on them.

Whatever.

He could have gone before the American people and demanded justice. The American people would have supported him.

I would have supported him.

But he didn't do that.

He fired off a couple of cruise missle fly swatters without telling anyone and left it at that.

He didn't do what leaders are supposed to do.

He did what leaders have to do, which is work with the cards that are dealt them. No one could really have foreseen Sept. 11th, and certainly most Americans didn't think we could be hit that close and that hard.

Also keep in mind that, at the time, Clinton was dealing with Republicans who accused his every action as being an attempt to distract people from Blowjobgate. While Clinton's own actions aren't without blame here, the GOP used every opportunity to undermine Clinton's efforts after the bombings for their own political gain.

By your logic, Bush dropped the ball just as much as Clinton, since he failed to do anything about terrorism himself. Had he acted on the Clinton Administration's proposals, perhaps then it wouldn't have happened?

Once again, hindsight is 20/20. FDR could have done more to prevent Pearl Harbor, I suppose.

Suffering from ads?

Hmmmm...so, Clinton can go bust up Kossovo (people who didn't directly attack the US) but somehow he was stopped by political reasons from going after Al Queda (who had just launched two direct attacks against the US).

Funny how that works.

No one took the Al Qaeda seriously back then. Did you ever hear of them before Sept. 11? They weren't considered a major threat until just recently. Milosevic on the other hand was quite obviously a clear and present danger to the Balkan region.
