It's the stupidity that is the problem, not the whiteness. What is wrong with pointing out a fact - most of the pro-war opinion is from stupid white guys. That's no more racist than pointing out the higher rate of incarceration for blacks or the fact that they dominate the NBA.

I borrowed the phrase from him but I give it a different meaning. I'm talking about the stupid white men aged 25-45 who are as I described in earlier posts. I'm sure everyone has met one of them: barroom generals, pub politicians, etc.

What were Americans doing about Iraq one year before Bush put Iraq on his hit list. That's right. Nothing.

During the dozen years after the first Gulf War, the UN ,with US support, found and destroyed Iraq's ability to manufacture "weapons of mass destruction" Stockpiles of chemical weapons were destroyed. Sanctions contributed to the reduction of the Iraqi army capabilities.

So the UN and the US were dealing with Iraq. And it worked. Iraq was not a threat.

As for anti-war protestors being against the sanctions, you know that is not true. Some protesters would likely be against it, others in favour of it.

Opinions about the sanctions changed as time went by. What was effective 10 years ago, was achieving smaller returns two years ago.

This is false. Go take a look at the major anti-war organizations and groups: For one, International ANSWER condemns the sanctions (if you didn't know, they are the primary anti-war organization, at least in San Francisco where I live). Cursory inspections of other major anti-war sites all seem to support the correlation between anti-sanctions and anti-war.
