I don't see it insinuating brutality. They're not on the ground with a boot in the back, and they're not being stripped. It looks like a perfectly reasonable search for weapons.

ok, they're being searched, not more. But claiming that this shows "surrendering Iraqis" is pathetic. It's civilians being perlustrated (does this word exist in English?).

Why would you expect civilians to have to surrender? Unless the americans are waging war against the civilians too, of course.

Either they're soldiers that have changed into civilian clothes, or simply civilians that were inspected on the way...at least that's what I suppose (and hope).

Well, I've seen plenty of coverage of an actual line of prisoners in uniform walking by with their hands on their heads. So Iraqui soldiers are surrendering too.

As an Iraqui source said recently, "Saddam is alive and no Iraqui soldiers have surrendered". Let's hope both statements are equally true.

Well....there isn't a great deal of footage of Iraqis surrendering, so have to use what's available.

As for important...most of the news coming out isn't important. We aren't being told the important stuff, and won't be for some time yet.

The footage of surrendered Iraqis walking in a line contained no more than twelve of them. Not only have we yet to see mass surrenders, we've yet to see the few hundred prisoners taken so far.

I've just seen footage of about 50 Iraqi prisoners. So they're probably surrendering in quite large numbers.

Of course all that may well have been fake, like the Iraqis claim, but I bet they're real.
