Since BHG is wrapping up production on RON, and it doesn't seem like they are going to add more, I thought we'd make a list for what would be nice in an expansion pack or the sequal. Here are some ideas:
1. Make all buildings except cities 1.5 times times higher
2. Make roads a little wider
3. Have an option where player can choose to make edges of the
map black, instead of like a gameboard.
4. Make space shuttle wonder available in Modern Age
5. Have a space race winning condition
6. Be able to build statelites, that launched into the atmosphere and it would make a moving circle, a couple of tiles in diameter, have no fog of war.
7. In CTW, have leader artwork
8. In CTW, be able to build cities on the CTW map, and they actually appeared in the battles approximately where you put them.
9. In CTW, be able to build railroads to connect your territories.
10. In CTW, somehow make it seem that the player isn't just conquering territories, but running an empire.
11. Bombers, artillary and battleships have a bombard attack when they attack land (attacks that attack buildings next to the building being attacked).
12. Have a "carpet bomb" option, where you click on the city, and the bomber bombs a random building in the city.
13. Of course, governments
14. And last, but not least, unit outlines when behind buildingd or trees

An editable CTW game play. For instance, be able to play it in x number of turns or in x age or on x map. Maybe allow triggers to happen between battles i.e. a WWII CTW where winter comes and causes the Germans to lose a number of troops and with draw a couple territories.
MP CTW. Allow us to battle each other as we try to take the world.

i think there should be 7 more nations added so there will be a nice round number of 25.... they should be, persia, india, hebrews/israel, iroqouise, u.s., vietnamn, and the philippines...
for now i whill touch on the nation the philippines for im a filapino...
all asians look alike, that is not neccissarily true... when ppl hear asians they think of chinese, japanese, koreans, and lo and behold they are nations in RON, but wait what about the southeastern asians, they are very different from china, japan, and korea,... why? because of the jungles, their millitary and people are like a mix of oriental, and the ppl like the incas, aztecs, and mayans.
what makes philippines different is their people and culture
to begin with they were tribal people, they sorta lived like the incas, aztecs, and mayans, but they originaned from malaysia... and are asians
first contacts- were the portuguese and ferdinand magellan, he landed on the philippines and never made it back, das cuz the ppl killed him by throwing a spear and pierced through him
second contact of outside world- the spaniards, the spaniards came to the philippines around the time before the battle of the Spanish of Armada, they conquered the tribal ppl with their superior weapons (guns) and wit supperior knowledge for they were educated, they ruled the philippines for 300 years, durin that time america was tryin to get a foothold in the philippines, they sent ships to luzon, the northern island of philippines where manila their capital is located, they educated the people and soon nationalistic feelings arose, they eventually overthrew the spaniards and kicked them out of the country
WWII, Vietnamn, and Korean War- In WWII the philippines was attacked the same day as pearl harbor, when they were attacked they walked the Bataan death march were thousands of filipinos and americans died on the way... the philippines was a very strategic location and the u.s built bases on it, the filipinos fought along side the americans in order to win WWII, in vietnamn and korea it was still used as a base and some filipino soldiers were sent to with the americans to help fight
after wards- the filipinos started to have those nationalistic feelings again, and decided to revolt againts the americans, they used guerrilla tactics as in WWII and againts the spaniards to fight the americans, eventually u.s. gave them their freedom...
Now... even now philippines is still filled with millitary action... they face the muslim extremist in the south, they face also a communist party that wants to over throw the government....
Game Ideas
UU- the Pinoy- a tribal warrior that had a yoyo like weapon that had a knife at the end (ancient age)
elite pinoy- classical age
mashede warrior- a warrior wielding 2 mashedes, (medievil age)
libirator- a soldier wearing a barong and carrying a rifle (gun powder)
barong soldier- an upgrade of the libirator (enlightenment)
guerrilla- upgrade of barong soldier (modern)
elite guerrilla- upgrade of guerrilla (information)
bonus... durin history the philippines refused to give up, againts the spaniards, the japanese, and the americans, they can have a bonus that takes an opponent longer time to capture a city and a bonus like russia's winter ...
semi unique tech for philippines and vietnamn- this region is known for their jungles, so this unique tech is called living jungle, since there are new ways off attacking like flanking... when an opponent enters a vietnamn or philippine player, the vietnamese or filipino soldiers are easier to hide with generals and in every way they attack its like flanking the enemy if the enemy is in their border
I will try to post more stuff on the other 6 civilizations that i think should be on it

I think a Hebrew civ would be a great choice because it represents a people with a long history who have greatly influenced events throughout that history, from the ancient Hebrews to the modern Israelis.
I like the idea of a U.S. civ, though it would be very hard to implement. What would their ancient age unique units be?

But i think its a mistake to do that, here is a democratic secular muslim state, something that the western powers want to see in the rest of the middle east. If they arent even at least given a bone for playing the game the way we want, it just isnt fair, nor advantages for us, and send a wrong message to them and other Muslim countries who are moderates. |
I don't think the time is quite right to label Turkey a democratic secular state. If it wasn't for the army, the fragile Turkish infrastructure would probably collapse. The current government is an Islamic one, and the people continue to show a strong anti-western sentiment. Certainly the country's strong relationship with America may be one of the reasons the major countries in the EU appear to be resentful of the Turks.

Yeah, anti-americanism seems to be a fast growing trend these days. Even so, the Turkish democracy is on thin ice imo. I know torture is still a widely accepted practice, and various international organizations have slammed the Turks for additional human rights abuses.

Still, you make a good point in saying that we should be thankful that Turkey isn't in the vice grip of fundamental Islam.
