Anyone driving from enemy held country across the lines, in front of a moving group of enemy soldiers, is a ****ing moron of the highest order - especially when the idiot admits that they knew they were approaching the front lines, and they drove down the road anyway.

The US contributes by far the vast majority of the forces in all of those conflicts, of course they'll be responsible for most of the friendly fire.

It was Iraqi soldiers at the checkpoints, IIRC - they were moving from Iraqi held territory to US held.

What's "clearly marked" from the side isn't necessarily clearly visible near head on from several hundred meters away.

Once they got close to the line, they should have got those vehicles off the road, got into cover, and used cell phones and or white flags to get the attention of US forces at closer range.

UR - why don't you tell me about how the PLA operates?

Just because I'm for the war doesn't mean I'll fight in a war.

I'm for the war because I know there's lots of volunteer troops who are ready to fight it, and that Saddam needs to go (badly), and I'm tired of appeasing Saddam so that the French can whore it up with Iraqi business.

Last I heard, the PLA hasn't invaded any other country in the world, hasn't got bases outside of the country where the soldiers get drunk and do nasty things to the locals, and certainly hasn't attempted any regime change in a sovereign country.
