2003 Baseball predictions Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

There has been enough talk of this battle with Sadam.

Let's talk about something really important.

BASEBALL

Who's going to win?

Who's going to lose?

Will someone hit 100 home runs this year?

Since the season hasn't started yet I still believe the Cincinnati Reds will take it all this year

The Yankees will fail to make the playoffs.

I am 100% accurate with my baseball predictions. It is not easy maintaining such a high level of quality, but I'm going to lay it all on the line right here, right now:

The Detroit Tigers will not make the playoffs.

Neither will the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Remember. You heard it here first.

AL East: Boston (New York is the WC; Tampa Bay will end up finishing 4th in the division)
AL Central: Minnesota
AL West: Texas
NL East: Philadelphia
NL Central: St. Louis (Chicago is the WC)
NL West: San Diego

AL MVP: Alex Rodriguez or Manny Ramirez. (I'd go with Manny, actually.)
NL MVP: Not sure. This Barry Bonds person is pretty good, but Jim Thome and Albert Pujols have a shot. I'll go with Pujols...
AL Cy Young: Pedro Martinez
NL Cy Young: Roy Oswalt (though if Atlanta is in the top 3 in the league in ERA, I'd give it to Leo Mazzone)

ALDS: Boston over Minnesota, 3-0; New York over Texas, 3-2
NLDS: St. Louis over San Diego 3-1, Chicago over Philly 3-1

ALCS: Boston over New York, 4-1
NLCS: St. Louis over Chicago, 4-3

World Series: Boston over St. Louis, 4-0.

Baltimore, KC, Seattle, Florida, Milwaukee, and Los Angeles in their respective divisions. The Cubs lose the NLCS in the seventh game after... well, think September 8, 1969, only it's Tino Martinez instead of Tommie Agee.

No.

(edit: added ALDS/NLDS predictions)

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Yeah, year ago if someone babbled that anaheim was gonna go all the way, it would have been good enough to put them in strightjacket.

Mets = 2003. Braves are NOT gonna make the playoff and NLCS will be agst the philles.

Yankees will not make the playoff not because they sucked, but because during the midseason, act of god will send the entire team into the purgatory, where they will be forced to use John Rocker as their closer.

Pittsburg Pirates over the Chicago White Sox 4 games to 2 in the WS. Oh yeah, the season will be 20 games long due to frequent labor stoppages.

Tired of ads?

It will be announced that the Montreal Expos still won't be contracted or moved, but will split their 2004 home games three ways among Montreal, San Juan, and somewhere in the Dominican Republic.
