The discovery: Civ Fanatics has contact with Gamecatcher.

I've been sitting idling in the GCA and CFC chatrooms for most of the afternoon and evening, and I've picked up some nice tidbits of information.

Based upon some information I came across in the ND forum, I can safely say that GWT likely has a very very substantial amount of land at its disposal (much more than the PTWDG). It's also quite likely that this land is very fertile as well.

Just some interesting tidbits from my chat with Mongoose yesterday:

A couple other things I heard from Mongoose and his assistant, Bolan Longpants:

There's a small island with one cattle on it that has a goody hut out there somewhere.

There was an awesome starting location in the game, and a very crappy one. You're all smart enough to guess who got the crappiest one.

Also, topic of CGN turn 106 turnchat is "Someone burnt the frog legs."

First post was someone asking for information on how things were going with/vs CGN. That person evidently did not have access to the private forum.

Second post was the thread starter commenting that there must not be much news.

Third post was someone from the inside saying that things were not good and that they had as little as 2 or 3 turns left. More information could be had by rejoining the team, but that rejoining is pretty pointless.

Fourth post was the thread starter thanking him for the information.

That is what I gathered from the bad translation from babelfish. My guess is that the thread was moved into the private forum.

Don't know if this is news or not, got it from an on-again-off-again CFC member:

Seems Chieftess is stepping down as Pres of CFC's team for the ISDG. Apparently, the emergency nominations to replace her aren't going well at all; no clear leader.

This person also expressed the belief that CFC was quite likely to be pounded into the dirt if we remained aloof.

Not sure what that means for us, but there you go.

I admit I also ATTEMPTED to bait mongoose into confirming that GWT had indeed helped GCA by subtley infering that they had.

Mongoose either didn't take the bait or played dumb. He acted surprised that GWT and GCA could even be in cahoots.
