	Villians: I need help! Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Hey everyone!

Since Civ is the ultimate Evil game, what with conquering your neighbors and MASSACARING YOUR OWN PEOPLE to build temples, etc., I figure, what better MOD for Civ than one featuring the classiest villains of all time as the opposing AIs?

This is a real loose idea... I just want some input, and any volunteers to help make it. It would mostly be for a chuckle, as I see it now.

All AI agression levels would be set to no less than 4... that's the only change I've really thought of, other than some of the leaders.

A note: these leaders are not meant to offend any one of any nationality! In particular, I do not wish to offend anyone of any Arabic group. I oppose the war on Iraq, and the "war on terror", just for the record!

That said, here's my idea for the various leaders and countries. Some would be replaced:

America - Richard Nixon
England - Richard III
Rome - Brutus
Japan - Tojo
China - Fu Manchu
Germany - Hitler
Russia - Rasputin
Arabs - Osama bin Laden (I know there are better choices, but with the press and everything, how could I not?)
Carthage (or wherever) - Iago
Latavia (or whatever) - Dr. Victor von Doom
The Empire - Emperor Palpatine
Mordor - Sauron
Transylvania - Count Dracula

...maybe this thing is too stupid to be made. But then again, "Mad Magazine" is arguably too stupid to be printed.

Ideas? Comments?

Well, I thought either Dubya or the Gipper would have made great villains, but I know there's a lot of people here on 'Poly that would say that Hillary Clinton should be the American villain leader... so I thought I'd split the difference and choose someone we can all hate.

Change the Zulu Civ to Uganda and then you could have Idi Armene as the leader.. You don't get much worse than him.

China
Chairman Mao, was pretty unpleasant in his later years (or what people did in his name). Although I am sure there must be some very nasty Rulers in China's long history that would be more appropriate.

..Anyway he choice of villan will depend on your perspective. Hopefully this thread might get some healthy debate going

...as for Mao, I'm sort of a Maoist symphatizer, though, yes, in his later life he committed horrible atrocities.

Idi Amin though WOULD be great. He ATE people!

As for Greece, I was thinking Rastapopulous, although maybe he's too obscure: he's a tyrannical, manipulative filmmaker in the Tintin comic series.

"Dracula" should be the historical "Vlad Tepes" aka "Vlad the Impaler", and he should be Romanian.

Vlad Tepes would be leader of Vallacia or was it Wallacia?

Hillary is the most evil seeming for America, I was thinking Grant or Lyndon Johnson for being the most successful crooks or Teddy Roosevelt for being "in your face" but Hillary is pure evil.

You gotta put in Saddam and Iraq, come on, the guy has SEVERAL ethnic extermination projects he didn't limit himself to one race like Hitler did.

Ah... it's amazing the breadth of opinion here at Poly... I would put REAGAN as the evil candidate... he certainly did the most stealing from the federal treasury... but enough dispute... **** Nixon is, after all, "not a crook"... but if someone could think of a better compromise candidate, I'm all ears.

Saddam should definitely be in there somewhere. Also maybe the Ayatollah Khomeini? People didn't like him much...

Definitely Qin Shi Huang Di for China. While he made China a single empire, he still was a psychotic egomaniac who was constantly on drugs. He was even worse when he became "first emperor" as he was obsessed with power, and tortured and killed anyone who criticized his tyrannical reign (thus the book burnings and the executions of scholars). Qin Shi Huang Di also sent hundreds of thousands to die building the Great Wall. In some theories, he built the Great Wall out of madness since parts of the wall were built on useless locations (now why would a Mongol raider want to charge over a steep mountain? ).

Another villianous leader for China could be Sui Wen-di, Emperor of the Sui Dynasty. Though he reunited China after a long dark age, he was repressive and an egomaniac as well. Sui Wen-di had many work and die on the repairing of the Great Wall. He also had hordes of attendants working on his gardens to make it look as if it were spring, even in the winter.

As for others...

Perhaps Aayatollah Khomeini for the Persians? The Iranians aren't Arab, but Persian.

How about Ivan the Terrible for Russia? Mobutu Sese Seko for Zaire (now known as the "Democratic Republic of the Congo")? And Oda Nobunaga for Japan?

For a few laughs, how about Miss Cleo for Jamaica (she's not Jamaican at all, you know ).

You've got some good suggestions... I was thinking more in terms of "Western"/Disneyland/Hollywood type villains...

How about adding "Duff" beer as a luxury and an "Itchy and Scratchy" TV station as a city improvement?
