Citys in the Rear areas are shifing from improvments to unit production or will be soon. But what hardware do our front commanders need?

MORE KV-1s? (take longest)

Katuskas?
Sturmoviks? Both take quite a long time but airbases are needed first for Sturmoviks.

T-34/76s? (or wait until the 85mm gun model is avaliable?)
Su-122s? Both built quite quickly Su-122 looks the most cost effective to me.

Won't the T-34-76's get upgraded anyway when the 85 mm gun comes online? In fact, it might be a way to get cheaper T-34/85's by building T-34-76's and having them get upgraded.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I'm not sure, but our current tech tree is already aimed towards getting those tank design anyway. If they lose veteran status, I guess we can favor building them in non-barrack cities if we have any. However, even they lose veteran status, it is a way to get cheaper tanks.

If we want veterans, than I say Katyusha's or SU-122's, and sturmovicks in the few cities with airfields. We seem to be building sturmovicks nearer to the front, so I don't think we'll need to construct any more airfields in the Urals to explicetly build any more of those planes.

I've just done a test and the T-34/85 is actauly CHEAPER than the T-34/76! Represents impoved industrial effciency I guess. So I think we should definatly wait for Mobile Warfare III before we build more T-34s.

We are but we should eventually build a third Urals airport, maybe in Kirov after industry pops and the steel mill is built. That way we could ship out up to THREE units per turn! (And build veteran aircraft in THREE places if we need too!)

It also simulates that the T-34 as it was developed got cheaper and easier to build during the war. Thats one of the many "Tank" facts I learned from FMK. (Where the heck is he when you need him! )

Put an end to popups!

Agreed, airport is good for airlifting purposes, but not for the point of the original discussion, that I said we didn't need to convert the Urals into a Sturmovick producing region.

As for the T-34/85's improved effeciency... Then I recommend Katyusha's and SU-122's, for the capturing of German cities.

We must be carreful not to build to many Sturmoviks, as they are of little use in the winter! If we wnt to have large winteroffensives, we will need more tanks, katyushka's, red guards etc. It's nice to have sturmoviks in the summer, but we will have to retake cities this winter, and hterefor we need ground troops. I have nothing against the sturmoviks, but we only seem to concentrate on them (although this could be because we talk so much about them)

I'd advise against building planes in the Urals. It takes quite a long time to fly them to the front lines... really, where we can, we'd be better off building planes near the front and airlifting tanks from the Urals.

T35-85s are good in the open... but they're not much good at taking cities. Xin was right about that - you can win the game building almost nothing but KV-1s, Katyushas, AAs and Shturmoviks...

The great thing about Shturmoviks is the multiple attack features... if you have to capture a city with 60 Wehrmacht in it, being able to attack 10 times with each plane is a Marxsend! Having said that, they do nothing against German 88s. So use the Katyushas to knock out the 88s and then Shturmoviks to mop up the rank and file German units.

I have found that tactic working well on the belorussian front for taking germans cities.

Currently we are producing 3 labor brigades, 1 red army, 1 naval infantry, 4 KV-1s, 1 T34/76, 7 Katyushas, 6 AA batteries, 1 LA-5, 9 sturmikovs, 1 destroyer, 3 cossack cavalry, 1 NKVD trooper, 3 Su-122 tanks hunters and 17 Red Guards.

So, while we may be producing too many sturmikovs, we aren't focusing on them soley, and the number should drop soon, I believe that Moscow and Gorkiyy may both be changing their production, but I'm not sure of that.

Belorussian needs some reinforcement now Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Please send some my way, we want to hold our gains.

I especially need artillery units airlifted each turn to Minsk, Smolensk and Nikov.

Please get some cities in the urals near airports building normal artillery units, stronger and cheaper than Kayusha's and still mv 2.

It was these that made the difference in taking Warsaw not the kayusha's.

We could start building t34/85 in non front cities en-mass even without barracks and then rush buy them the following turn, I'd rather have 10 t34's coming to the front lines at the moment than new wonders etc.

I'm really laking in the city garrisons department now

I dont know H, I think Id like to finish Civilian donations first. We have a great cash flow but more rubles is always better! If we could build both at once some where that would be fine. JUST MHO!

Advice for subsititute Armaments Minister:

Things are going well in the Urals ATM new industry is appearing every turn, so make sure the workers who have finished are put back to work building more industry on plains (2 workers per tile) or joining citys to boost population.

I'm waiting for Krasnovishersk and Rokitno to grow to size 4 before switching to their supper-recource squares (to avoid starvation), they will become industrial power-houses like Zlatoust. Vorkuta has v. high produciton but is miles form anyware so is great for producting Wonders. Build units based on the best high quality unit that can be built in the shortest number of turns and on what front commanders are in need of. Request rush-buys for improvements that are needed and will take ages otherwise (Steel Mills, Grain Elevators, Ammunition Plants etc.)

Important: winter is coming so make sure that no city will starve.

Good Luck Commrade

Maikop and Tbilisi will starve this winter and there is not much we can do about it. (Will affect Econ minister)

Orsk-Pull off a bauxite hex in two turns or it will starve.

Tobolosk-Pull off a coal mine hex in two turns or it will starve.

Perm-Pull off Industry hex in two turns or it will starve.
