Robert Fisk: The dogs were yelping. They knew bombs were on the way
The dogs always get it right. Every time they start baying, you know that the bombers are coming back. And they yelped and barked as night fell last night. And within 15 minutes, even we humans could hear the rumble of explosions from southern Baghdad

'SADDAM ESCAPED ATTACK'
British intelligence officials believe Saddam Hussein escaped America's devastating bomb attack on a building where the Iraqi leader was thought to be meeting.
They say he may have left minutes before four 2,000lbs obliterated the restaurant in the al-Mansour district of Baghdad.

U.K. Forces Committed Mass Killing In Umm Qasr: Iraqis
---
The U.K. troops in the Iraqi southern port city of Umm Qasr set up mass graves in the city to cover up hard evidence of committing massacres that claimed the lives of some 200 Iraqis in the first days of the war, unleashed on March 20, eyewitnesses told IslamOnlin.net Tuesday, April 8.

In other Iraq war news from that site, SARS is nothing more than a psy-op to make the public more accepting of a war in Iraq..................................

Renewed Fighting Erupts In Baghdad

BAGHDAD, April 9 (IslamOnline.net & News Agencies) - Fighting flared up Wednesday, April 9, around the presidential palace where two U.S. tanks still held a key bridge over the Tigris river.

The Abrams tanks opened fire, artillery pounded out and automatic weapons crackled as U.S. forces moved to counter resistance from an Iraqi position blocking the eastern exit of the Al-Jumhuriya bridge, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP).

"the war turned out to be difficult on account of the fact that the Russian defense industry delivered anti-tank missiles to Iraq via third countries. As it was said, the Russian defense industry also supplied Iraq with night vision devices, and unique Kolchuga anti-missile systems. The US administration determined that Russia delivered those weapons to Iraq several days before the war was launched."

From the Pravda article quoted by Monkspider. Pravda also calls for the world to unite against America.

Al Jazeera "finally" reports on jubilation of the Iraqi people:

"The scenes in the Iraqi capital were chaotic. Jubilant Iraqis welcomed advancing US forces in Baghdad while rampaging looters attacked symbols of Saddam Hussein’s power.

Residents threw flowers at the armoured column as it swept past, just three kilometres east of the central Jumhuriyya Bridge over the Tigris river. Joy at the apparent removal of Saddam Hussein was tangible, with one man beating a canvas portrait of him with his slipper.

Crowds threw flowers at the Marines as they drove past the Martyrs' Monument, just three km (two miles) east of the central Jumhuriya Bridge over the river Tigris.

"No more Saddam Hussein," chanted one group, waving to troops as they passed. "We love you, we love you." One young man ran alongside a Marine armoured personnel carrier trying to hand over a heavy belt of ammunition. An older man made a wild kicking gesture with his foot, saying "Goodbye Saddam".

Women waved from balconies, girls threw flower petals at young Marines leaning across gun turrets. One woman held her baby aloft. Tank crews picked the flowers from the tops of their fighting machines, smelt them and grinned. Crowds of Shia men beat their chests in the streets."

Fatal error in attack against hotel in Bagdad has been verified.

Reporters who lodge in the enclosure deny version of the U.S.A. that said that the tank responded to the fire of snipers.

Dramatic images toked by the French television shows the moment in which a North American tank shoots against the Palestine Hotel, in Baghdad, where the foreign press that covers the war lodges.

In the first photography it is possible to see clearly when the tank aims in the direction of the Palestine Hotel. Two minutes later the armored vehicle open fire.

Chilean, since we know what tank and where it was, I think we can identify the tank crew. It would be interesting to interview the crew.

The two minute pause seems to indicate that the crew was trying to verify that they were being shot at from the hotel.

But there is no proof of the existence of snipers in the hotel and journalist from BBC, France 3, Reuters, TVN Chile and others they have said that they didn't heard firings from the hotel and that the members of the iraqi militia were not present.

Iraqi Embassy in Brazil Burns Documents

BRASILIA, Brazil - Iraqi Embassy employees in Brasilia started burning documents Wednesday after TV stations broadcast images of a Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) statue being toppled in Baghdad, police said.

Police said they could see men outside the embassy burning boxes and large quantities of paper.

"There were some workers who took papers from the offices to the garden to burn them," said police Col. Abinor Deilvane, whose unit protects embassies in the Brazilian (news - web sites) capital.

Media photographers who arrived a short time later saw three piles of smoldering paper inside the embassy's walls next to the building.

An embassy official who said he was the secretary of Iraqi Ambassador Jarallah Alobaidy denied documents were being destroyed.

"It's all lies," said the official, Abdu Saif. "We are only burning garbage and recently cut grass."

A short time later, a man who answered the phone at the embassy said only, "I'm not working now" and hung up.
