If apoly' and CDG got into a fight who world win? Suffering from ads?

It looks like CDG is "sleeping" with some other team. The other team will not commit an inportant force to apoly' because CFC will hit their weak cities. So it will be apoly' vs. CDG. Who do you think would win?

Edit: Fine it may not happen but if it happened close to this time who would win?

Who voted for CDG?!?

I honestly don't know. It depends on how each team moves along in the near future. If they attack us with 4 Immortals in a dozen turns, then they win. If they attack us with 4 Archers in 30 turns, we'll win. It just depends under what circumstances the war occurs under.

Put an end to popups!

CDG has also said that GCA denies having contact with CFC... meaning that wherever CFC is, they're probably pretty far away from CDG.

Where does this information this poll is based on come from? It seems a little presumptious, almost to the point of being misinforming.

I agree, this can't be real unless we are planning for war in the immedeate future, which we are not.

Taking this poll for the only thing that would have meaning, that being a "What if they attacked us in the immediate future" poll, I'd have to say we'd be at a clear disadvantage. I do think that in 20-30 turns though that will change, and I also dont think they are likely to attack us in that time span. So I voted CDG would win, but Im not particularly worried about it either.

Uhhh................APOLYTON! Of course!

EDIT: I voted for 'tie' because we could hold them off; I'm only considering them attacking us and not us attacking them.

I really don't know who'd win, it would depend on the circumstances.

I also would not want to underestimate the power of an immortal stack heading our way.

If we were in CDG's position, I would be pretty confident we could take out Apolyton if we really tried. Our size 5 city makes it really obvious we've gone the Granary route, and so we'll be weaker economically than they for some time now (of course, their second city is pretty bad...). There's also the fact that they can upgrade to their (awesome) UU, while we cannot.

It all depends on how much they want to take us out, and if they realise that their window of opportunity is shrinking (unless they're waiting to get adequate support from other teams).

I voted tied.

I was playing a non PTW Emperor game as Babylon a couple of days ago. Persia was next to me, and attcked suddenly when I had 3 cities. I had one bowman plus several warriors then, but managed to rush another 2 bowman to stop the initial wave of attack. I almost lost one city. If i did, that's probably game over. But I survived and went into Golden age, and produced more bowman & subsequently swordmen.

But at the end, it's tied. I survive their waves of attacks but I was not quick enough to build enough units to counterattack them.

Have a nice day.

I find it disturbing that the majority of our team feels that CDG could destroy us right now if they wanted to, yet are unconcerned about this fact...

I think that the tide is changing on that Trip. The whole "better safe than sorry" idea is begining to creep back into the team's philosophy.

NM's will be comming shortly, I'd say soon after we figure out CDG has IW. Maybe we should begin scouting around their Capitol, as close as the NAP allows, to allow us to see if they have Iron when the times comes for us to get it from them.

In all honesty, I think GCA is CDG's first target. We have a pretty good defender with the NM; GCA doesn't. GCA is a lot closer to them, they are easier to sneak up on.

I'm only "unconcerned" in that I don't think they will be able to easily beat us in 20-30 turns. As for the immediate future, there's not a lot we can do about it but hope for the best.

The minute we discovered that the Persians were our neighbors I believe we all got a heavy dose of paranoia. It's not like any of us was shrugging off the obvious Immortal-rush scenario.

But my initial feelings were that we should turn this into a diplomatic battle, not a military one. With a 3-Defense UU, we're not the kind of easy targets CDG was hoping for. And there is (still) no reason to believe that just because they have access to Immortals they will rush with them within the first 60 turns of the game (Immortals are still pretty good in the Medieval age, and Persia can flourish by the strengths of its traits alone).

My point is that our fear of Immortals may be increasing, but this is no reason double our defenses (at the expense of, you guessed it, our economy). What we need to fear is CDG. The Immortal rush is what it is. What we need to do is delay that attack until such time as our economic base provides a real advantage. Right now, or in the immediate future, we would probably lose; in 40-50 turns, CDG would have a very very tough time. And thus my belief that we need a diplomatic victory in the short-term, to ensure a military one later on.

Depends on what we are doubling them from From where we are now..... I'd probally feel comfortable with 2 or 3 NM's per city in one of my own games, but thats based on experience against an AI.
