	'Attached' Ambassadors Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

When recruiting Ambassadors, Togas included the following criterium for an applicant:

quote: The ability to not become attached to the team you talk with.

He's right - becoming too attached can be a danger.

But -- now that we see that our neighbours are probably less experienced, can we turn this around? Can we 'attach' the CDG ambassador to our team and turn this to our advantage?

In other words, can we manipulate such a person into liking our team a lot? One way to do that would be to get to know such a person, become very friendly, inquire about his personal life, studies, family, etc.

The idea behind all this is that a team that needs a military target will aim at another civ when the time comes, and not at us.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Things are moving along well. Up over 2250 words for the whole thing, and steadily increasing per day. I'll be quite a read when finished.

CDG's Ambassador to us is GF. I don't think we can get him turned to the 'light' side of the 'force'!

He's not really been that active with us though, kentonio's been the one to do most of the negotiating; maybe if someone else takes over it could be possible.

Unless he is an ex-Apolytoner I honestly don't see how he will come to favor our team more than theirs.

AFAIK our ambassadors engage in minor chit-chat during the conversations. This is good. We should not look at this as trying to turn them towards our side but rather making them feel Apolyton is a trustworthy and honest team. Since they will spread this knowledge back to their leaders it is sure to help our cause.
