Roleplay and the Rather Large Pyramid Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Or the Great Pyramid, whatever...

DeepO suggested that we post some roleplay following our Pyramid build, to soften the shock that the other teams will get when they see that we've completed the G. Pyramids and to break the ice between GS and the rest of the world.
I think this is an excellent idea, so I've made this thread to concentrate suggestions for how we should roleplay the completion of our wonder.
DeepO initially had two suggestions:
1. An invitation to come as tourists and see the Pyramids - I think that's an excellent idea! In fact, we could call our thread 'Gathering Storm Travel Brochure' or 'Gathering Storm Invites Tourists'.
2. Mentioning that we did not build the Pyramids to bury within our great leaders, but just as a tourst attraction - I think that's pretty funny and worth noting in our travel brochure.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? We'd better write it all soon, there's not much time left.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

We could offer to be a funeral service, promising to bury the bodies of dead teams under our great Wonder. But maybe that will not improve our relations very much...

This is sort a weird idea, but maybe we could send each team a screenshot of the City View were the Pyramids are built. This would give other teams some information about the city (such as which improvements it has, and its River-adjacency), but nothing too critical, IMO. Maybe the picture could be part of the brochure idea.

We could also make some wise-crack about how we expect our citizens to reproduce with increased vigor and freqency now that the Pyramids are complete (maybe because they have all this time off now...). I've never understood why my population goes soaring when I complete the darn thing.

DeepO and Shiber, great idea by the way.

Well... there are a bunch of options how to do it, the tourist attraction would seem one idea to start on this.

No matter how we do it, I would do it in two stages: one in which, the moment we switch to the Pyramids from our palace, we tell the world we are starting building the wonder, maybe mentioning that we know that Legoland wants to have that big tourist attraction too, but hope to finish first. Then we should get some comments the following day or so, and next turn, we finish the pyramids, and we post something that we have now opened for public, charging only moderate income.

the idea is to make it more or less funny, but to keep the rest informed, but only at the moment that they can't change anything about it, and we are certain we won't lose face when something doesn't work. Even if they have a leader present, they can't build the pyramids if we switch the last turn...

Actually, some of the real pyramids were used as rather huge granaries (i think ), so that's why they give a granary in every city, i guess...

I like DeepO's idea on a 2-phased release of the "news" and the tourist brochure kind of thing will be great. Anyone here with reasonable graphic design skills?

I'm not the master, but I can use Photoshop and such. I've also got some friends who are good with designing, so maybe I could get some help from them.
I'll see what I can whip up tomorrow.

It would be easy to to explain it that way: we mention that it was intended as a burial grounds for our great leaders, but as nobody of them have died yet, we use it as a rather large granary in the mean time.

Once war breaks out with Vox, it would be easy to continue the theme, in that we moved a bit of our wheat out to burry a hero (e.g. Grog, should we 'lose' him ). And, in case we get a GL from war, and people know that we used it (on a palace move, or wonder rush), we can say that he worked so hard on a second project, he deserves a place in our most honorable grave yard, as he gave his life for the cause in which he believed.

etcetera, etcetera.... if we pick a theme like that (Pyramids on the brink of the Nile), we can easily tell a little story around whatever we want to tell to everyone.

And of course, let's hope this springs some discussion on the other teams

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Or we could say something really cheesy like "we built this great structure to protect our citizens from the gathering storm!!!". Ahem, sorry.

Just be careful not to appear like we're rubbing their noses in it.

"We got the Pyramids and you-ou didn't! Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah!"

I know that isn't the intention at all, but if your team was working on a wonder (though we don't know if other teams are really taking a shot at the Pyramids, do we?) and one of your competitors built it & sent you a screenshot of it... how would you feel? Me, I'd be pissed.

Of course we won't rub their noses in it- we'll give the brochure and offer some discount for groups , there's no reason to feel hurt after that kind of gesture...
