Well, better to become an American if you can Pekka. Nothing to be done about Karelia with politicians like that, a miltary buget that compares to that of the Keebler Elves, and a Russia that inherited the stuff left over from former greatness, though rusting.

Finland lacks the balls to prepare and launch a credible attack. You wouldn't have to win, just show up in a serious manner.

They survived the the Red Army all on their lonesome. Not only that, they trounced their asses in many cases.

The Winter War was over by the time the Germans started rolling in '41. It did almost assure the Finns would join in the fun though.

The Finns lost the war. They came out with less territory than they went in, and the peace was more on the Russians' terms than on theirs.

They gave Stalin a harder time than anybody had the right to expect, but the still lost.

In fact, I'd hand that to the Finns. We faced down muskets. They faced down tanks, and blew them up.

And yes, the Finns we're more ****ed than we were by the Russians' strength. But it's not as overwhelming as it seems. Remember that this is after the Stalinist purges and before he brought the officers who were still alive back into the service...
