So it is possible he died of PE. I mean the lack of sleep could definitely increase blood pressure, and the constant stress of war could definitely bug one's ticker.....

What am I saying? I am saying it is a long ways for a corpse to travel, and I wonder if his family is accepting he just tipped over and died this morning.

10 -13% die after being admitted to a hospital for other reasons.

48% of PE deaths occur after Bypass.

So what am I saying?

He died as a complication of treatment for wounds, more than likely.

Maybe his system simply was not ready to handle all the stress he is under, including a lot of soot and sand into his system. he may have had a previous unknown condition which all of a sudden becoms known, though too late.

Unlike the assmunch that started this thread, I'd like to say that I'm sad that he passed away. I always liked his enthusiasm for his work, both at NBC Weekend Today and more recently covering the war. He had a wife and three daughters.

As for your conspiracy theory, why don't we ask the half dozen NBC guys who were with him what happened? That should clear things up quickly. I suspect that the heat also could have been a contributing factor to his death, in addition to mention the dust and the high level of stress. He was the guy who the first week of the war hitched a ride with some cargo helicopters who came under fire, and had to set down in the desert, where they spent 48 hours waiting out the sandstorm, protected by a platoon of tanks and a platoon of infantry from the 3rd ID. They were attacked several times while they waited for the storm to lift. It sounds like a prime opportunity to get plenty of dust into your lungs.

Yep. If you don't get enough sleep, your blood pressure goes through the roof.

Those blood clots are also nasty, if there isn't a hospital nearby and it travels to the wrong part if the body, (like the brain or lungs) the chance of survival isn't very good.

I also didn't say I was happy he died. Sorry I didn't add frowny emoticons to show that I truly was sad, allthough I feel much more empathy for the children who have died in the conflict already. Honestly it has been 19 days now and I am pretty much numb to the death now.
