basically, this kid is getting sued for over 90 BILLION DOLLARS for making nothign more than an interface to an already existing service (network file sharing).

GAH!!!!

theres also another kid that's got the same deal, but he's been much quieter about it.

we're planning to raise money / hold a rally for this kid. what are your views?

Obviously this is an attempt to intimidate the college students of the world into not sharing files. Of course, this will do little other than convince more people not to buy RIAA products, for fear of funding the "evil empire".

Ooh, the RIAA article on their actions is as laden with bias as Faux News. Wow, it's even factually inaccurate

But "with a single click of a mouse" makes it sound much more easy than "with a double-click of a mouse." Clearly that gives them the right to distort their facts, no?

Because some rightist people believe that just because a product can be used for illegal reasons, it shouldn't be illegal. For example, Napster, guns, water pipes, etc.
