I do - no more shots of our troops winning, or any shots from the battlefield at all. The former is basically rubbing their noses at their own defeats, which is far from nice. The latter could expose intelligence - after all, we don't really know what they know and don't know, so let's just not take any more chances.
That's my own personal opinion. However, others may think that posting screenshots has some added value that I didn't consider. In any case, if anyone objects I would suggest that we discuss this to form a uniform policy on the public distribution of battlefield shots, or else we might create chaos.

By the way, regarding how long we keep the saved game:
So far we've been stretching the 24 hours limit to its end. Obviously noone has or will say that they like it, but I think this makes us look dignified. However, after we've repelled Vox's attacked and began steamrolling all over them, where it wouldn't be necessary to keep the save, I suggest that we forward the save as quick as possible.
If we keep the save for long when it is clear that our victory is already guaranteed, it would seem like we're planning as thoroughly and being as efficient as if we were fighting for our capital. There's nothing wrong with that, really, but in the public scene, I think this could make us look somewhat cruel to Vox. They have no sympathizers now, but we could easily make them the underdogs again without intending to - let's try our best to avoid that.
I'm not at all saying that these considerations should take precedence over other considerations, e.g. if we really have to keep the save file to discuss something thoroughly or to finalize a deal. But when it's possible to follow these considerations without actually harming ourselves in the process, I would recommend that we do so.

I agree Aeson... but let's not write Vox off yet, so trash talking still allowed
In any case, the lieing stuff should end, and we should never tell them something was stupid. We already made that mistake a couple of times, and the way this seems to be going, there will be enough opportunities later.
Screenshots: I would agree, Shiber, however there are exceptions. But we shouldn't be posting screenies anymore withouth group discussion.
Screenies generally don't do much wrong if they do not reveal any map information to teams (and assuming Vox has been trading its map to more people, that has not been the case thus far), nor disclose troop strength to Vox (eg by showing how many units remained after an attack).
The reason why we sometimes need to disclose screenies is because it's fun, and others are waiting to see some info. Let's not disappoint the audience

I will feel tense until we take the northern iron supply, then and only then, I think, can we relax. (assuming bob doesn't pitch in)

Seems to me that GoW was playing a part in the farce of the second landing. Can we rely on intel supplied by them? I'm not saying ignore it, but don't bet the empire on it. So, I am in general agreement with Aeson, but tending towards more sceptical..
BTW, I haven't seen it. Where is it? |
page five of the latest turn thread, towards the bottom.
I checked it against our maps and the geography looked the same to me, but that would easily be faked, and surely they wouldn't be that careless.
I don't think we should necessarily believe the screen shot. They will get what they want out of us, feudalism, in 2 or 3 turns, and they know we won't lose the war by then. after that they will have less use for us, so they very well might be setting us up.

My feeling is that if Vox pushes, they should expect us to push back, but we shouldn't rub their noses in things unilaterally. My posting the screenshot of the immortal's death was a reaction to two specific provocations. First, there was Eli's avatar showing Grog's death. And second, when I corrected Wittlich's boast about the loss ratio with a report of the death of an immortal (information they would have gotten in their turn in any case), he responded saying, "Talk is cheap." Put those together and posting a nice blow-up of their immortal's death seemed like a suitable response. (Edit: And yes, I know this is all in fun; I'm not using the term "provocation" in the sense of something evil, but just in the sense of a good-natured poke that seems to call for a good-natured poke back.)
If Vox keeps trash talking even while they lose, I consider it fair game to trash talk back - within reason. But I certainly agree that we should not be cruel about it. We might be deadly enemies in the game, but we want to emerge friends in real life.

Well, I'm not saying once that it was wrong to post the death of their first immortal, on the contrary, in the spirit of the game it was good to show to others we just entered our GA, it creates a lot of diplo options we can use. However, we can't overdo it: if we get a SoD from Vox, and they would post them entering Monsoon (which is possible in the near future), we should not retaliate next turn posting screenies where the last unit of their stack gets killed by our counterstrike.
A screenie showing our units entering their capital is of course always fun, with the right description. It could easily be taken as a boast by us, and this we should avoid.
As to screenies from GoW: they are fully capable of editing it pixel-perfect, so we would never see if they had edited the shot before sending it to us. I can do that, and I have nowhere near the photopaint skills of GF. Further, I also agree we can't fully depend on them, but I don't think we have done that so far. But, even with their aggresive personality, GoW still strikes me as the most honorable team after us, I don't think they have deliberately lied to us before, nor are they doing it with the screenies.
The liars in this game are RP, I fully suspect that they gave Vox the initial idea of landing a few immortals on Bob to distract us, retreating them before GoW could react. The only problem is that Vox should have done that 1 turn earlier than slaying Grog, instead of afterwards. In my mind, RP is behind this war, not Vox, nor GoW. They may even be supported by Lego, who will realize by now that we are their biggest competitors if we manage to take out Vox easily.
