One thing that you will like IMO is that you'll be able to automatically tell the etymology of many words you are already using (in most european languages) You'll be surprised to find out how much richness is hidden behind almost each word. Helps you to understand its meaning more wholly too.
(and automatically know what most medical and scientific words mean)

I always thought the city of Thermopolis in Wyoming had a cool, futuristic sounding name. It probably isn't like that at all, but one can dream.

I already discovered some things.
I knew that one of the emperors named Michael (I don't remember the number, though.) had a sobriquet "Methystes", which ment that He used to like alcohol.
And a precious stone is named amethystos, and so I learned it's a stone keeping You from being drunk.
There are some remains of the Greek in Arabic; they say a word "qalam" comes from Greek. Also, I have learned that
Polish word haracz comes from Turkish, from Arabic tax, from greek name for a village, "chora". It is pretty logical as it was a tax for the land, but I didn't know about it until recently.
