	End-Game Scenarios Enter the AD-FREE zone

I for one, don't think the game is going to last too long. And we have made some alliances, and some enemies and have embarked on one course.

But there are anumber of ways this game could go, and they will dictate what we do in the short and medium term. I thought it would be useful to start discussion on the longer term strategy. In saying this - I fully appreciate that we have some very short term priorities that we need to deal with - but even they can be dictated somewhat by the end-game goals.

So - I will just lay some ideas on the table. Please toss them around - or add others.

Scenario One

We manage to take out GS. We ally with NeuD and GoW to take out RP. We then ally with them to take out Lego. Then, I am not sure where it goes. But I suspect that both Neud and GoW will want to finish it - one way or the other.

Scenario Two

We manage to take out GS. We ally with NeuD and GoW to take out RP. But - as we do that - we realy ally with Lego - and just when GoW and NeuD finish off RP, and hopefully are weakened, Lego and Vox hit them from opposite sides of bob. We sweep the continent clean - declare it to be a wildlife sanctuarry - and call the game. I have discussed this privately with vondrack - and he he likes the idea. But will his team. This is my preferred scenario.

Scenario Three

Lego internal politics goes south. And soon. We make peace with GS before taking any cities. We reach agreement with them on a longer-term alliance, and wait for the Bobian conflict to erupt. We could probably keep the ruse going of such war with GS for sometime as cover. Then Vox and GS take out the rest of the world. This will hinge on us being able to convince GS of our sincerity - which may be difficult.

But the point here is that GoW is not rushing troops to help us. The rest of the world is going to be happy to see Vox and GS beat ourselves into pulp. It is off their continents - and it weakens two teams considerably. So I feel GoW's support for us is very carefully guaged to not shorten the war in any way - but to let it be long and expensive - and leave two or one very weakened civs.

Scenario Four

We climb into bed with Roleplay. But I can't figure out how this might work. And I don't really trust them. It would mean sticking with the war against GS.

I don't think that scenario three will work. first they don't trust us, second would we ever truly trust them. I think we would always be "looking over our shoulders" for fear of a bitter sneak attack from GS. this suprise attack has polarized them against us. I don't think this war can be stopped without a clear winner.

WELCOME BACK DISS!! Great to see you. No, we haven't run the team into the ground yet. But we do have the world's largest army and we are about to unleash it on GS, barring any last minute diplomacy to save the day.

Yes - the war has started, as has all the rhetoric that goes with it. We are officially at war with GS, having killed a warrior. They killed one of their own warriors, and a chariot took out a regular Immortal. But the real heavy fighting hasn't started yet. This turn.

Thanks macy. I am stuck between using my Viking avatars (including Hagar's dog) for the SPDG and the new political party I am starting up, versus the al-Sahhaf Minister of Inromation collection for the ptwdg.

I figure in another 10-15 turns GS will have knights. They know if they cut our iron supply their knights will be able to clean up anything we can muster. I suspect that is why FP and GS think this will be a short war.

I think GoW is playing it soft because they did not want to go to war yet. They want their UU. And they have more territory to expand into so there is no pressure on them yet.

It would be nice to think that GS may be serious about peace, but I have very serious doubts of it working out. Based on GS past actions, and our sneak attack, GS will only tolerate us as long as we can be of benefit to them. Making peace with GS will not give us any chance of victory. Living to the end of the game maybe, but no victory. Continuing the war against GS without help means we will not live to the end game. Our only way to live to the end game and have a chance of victory is to take out GS and we need help to do it.

Harry - I agree with your assessment.

Except - I am not sure about chivalry and knights. In some respects - if they are continuing research at a high rate - then great. It will cost them. My biggest concern is another civ selling it to them. We should make it crystal clear to the rest of the world - not publicly - but privately - that the 'alliance' would not appreciate it.

And that the alliance will win the war.

yes I agree with Beta's. If GS is using it's money to reseach all the better. I'm not as conserned about a sale of Chivalry. It seems like all the teams are hoping we win.
