	The 2nd 'Challenge To All Authors' Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Ok guys, here's #2.

We all know that Firaxis did a chop job with the 'official' story for SMACX. The first one flowed well and was very well done. But the second seemed to be a bunch of 'faction indroductions' all jammed together. The result: too many characters, not enough plot. To add salt to the wounds, the whole thing isn't done. The Aliens haven't landed, and we still don't know what the 'churn' is. (any guesses?)

I propose that we right our own 'official' SMACX story. It will have to explain all seven new factions (ex: Data Angels are still breakoffs from Morgan), but it doesn't have to follow their plot (ex: Zak doesn't have to control the Manifold Nexus)

This could be a colaboration, or a single story. It can be the whole thing, or a short one post 'exert.'

Sounds great. But why don't we just e-mail Firaxis or EA or whoever controls the story and ask them to hurry up. Other than that sounds great. I'm in.

Yeah I could do that, but I doubt it would be very effective...

The main reason I gave this challenge is because I don't like the story they gave us! The Cyborg opening makes NO sense, the pirate one was pretty good, and the rest are just randomly stuck together to introduce their factions without tying anything together.

I think the people here can do better then that.

It's a great idea! It seems that I've nominated myself for writing for the Free Drones, and I hope that I don't stomp on anyone's plotline.

Well...i guess im in with the DATA ANGELs

I also guess if we started this...the "crossfire tales" would be sent to pasture, for lack of a better term

I think before we do this...lets make sure we get a couple of spartan chroncle guys on this ticket. They have alot of experience if you ask me.

Hmm... ya know, I think you guys missed the point of the challenge.

I'm not trying to recruit people to work on a new story. I'm just setting it out there. This doesn't have to be a team effort. It doesn't have to be the whole thing. The challenge was simply to write all or part of the unoficial story to SMACX, alone or with anyone else.

Our roles in other stories have no significance in what faction we right for.
