its a pet hate of mine, i ask for 'rare, and i mean rare!' but the chef always cooks it that BIT more (presumably in a case i send it back as undercooked)

Slow, do you have the phrase 'blue' in the USA? that fits the bottom option in the UK

depends on the place, in some places 'rare' is a codeword for 'still moving', and in others even medium will give you some black piece of ****. usually go for medium rare, if i know the place well then i'll go for a rare.

I like it Medium Rare mostly but Rare is good too...anything above Medium is disgusting to me.

BTW if you go to a restaurant and order a well done steak you will get the lowest grade beef the chef has...just a little tip .
