Well, chaps, I just arrived by carriage here in Toledo, and what a place it is.
Sadly, because of the lack of a good road to the town (it is being built now by my nephew Headwig), we've got just a little old shack to live in...but that is OK, because the villa is nearly finished. And the squidding here? It's barbaric. But that's OK. I was never the seaman of the family.
As of now, we are 7 turns away from a temple...err...a Church, which will be dedicated to Sts. Crispin Crispianus and Iago, the brother of Jesus. In other words, culture will soon boom here...whereupon we are open for just about anything, though I rather relish the idea of a Courthouse.
However, if settlers or troops are needed, I am proud to report that Toledo is now productive enough to produce any of that.

Very nice city. And very good governor!
I've heard that you are planning to create a silk industry at the city. Is that true?

Bravo!
I am very happy to see Iago de History Guy is the head of such a beautifull city! And I invite you to come and visit La bella Santiago, with the Holy trail Hernăn the Saint walked through when he Left Madrid in exile...
About the building of a Court, I agree, it is a nice idea, I myself think about starting one in Santiago.... the crime there is horrible... bananadicts all over the Lower part of the city...
Once again, congrats, and may Toledo grow prosperous and mighty!

Well...right now, hopes for beautification are high. Indeed, we of the Calamarquist Clan are hoping to turn Toledo into a commercial and cultural center...despite the annoyance of the jungle.
Of course, I'd also like to request that, after I build the Courthouse, I may build a swordsman for the region's defense (and for the offensive force, if necessary).
Afterward, I should like either to begin work on a Library, or a Marketplace. I'm inclined to go for the latter at first, due to the great commercial benefits in the region.
And yes, old boy, silk is the main produce of the region...and despite the appearance of some rather nasty asps, and the local tradition of weretigers lurking in the jungle, we are heading off to establish a commercial route to the silk company. We have a good sized silk squid population here, and despite the tentacles, we are getting some nice produce already.
And they are good eats...
Disease is our major concern, right now. There is very little we can do to prevent it at this stage, unfortunately. One hopes that once we've built up the town, we may be able to build an aqueduct, and supply our city with the fresh, clean water of the valley. We just hope the bird population doesn't target the reservoir...or something horrible.
And thanks, Nuclearius, my friend. I should like to spend my holiday this winter in the beautiful area of Santiago, and tread with my rosary along the Via Sacra dela Santiago, where St. Hernan, my ancestor, saw a vision of the Blessed Virgin on the very spot of the battle which formed our nation.
