Hello, everyone:
I just found this site. I've begun to write a story, which I don't have a name for yet, but I am about to post the first chapter. As per tradition, reply here if you wish to comment on it, PLEASE! (I mean, please comment to your hearts' content.)
Codger, I'd be happy if you had a "Lieutanent Jakjon" in your story. I'm a big guy, 6'2", 275 lbs, (I don't know it in kilos.) Occasionally violent, militaristic.

Wow! Another new story! And I thought this forum was almost dead... WAY wrong!!

All I can say is, I love the Free Drones! I'm so happy that there is another story with them in it. I eat this stuff up. I'll give you as many comments as you want.

Nice begining, and I look forward to some more.

Chapter two is up! I got to read some of the Spartan Chronicles, and they're great! (I intend to enlist in the Army, and I like their portrayal. "He'll shoot her in the head, just like the old days!") I hope you like my portrayal of Lal. I have no idea how I am going to factor in the "Social Engineering" options in my story...

Nice work so far. I'll give you a bit more feedback.

If anything, I'd like the parts to be longer. Don't be afraid to be lenghty. It just gives us more to read, and that's most always a good thing.

If there is something you don't know how to do (i.e. the SE choices), then don't worry too much about it. SMACX is a diverse world, with fourteen factions, an alien landscape, a planet mind, mindworms of all shapes and siezes, PSI attacks, mind-reading empaths, unity pods, a whole slew of base improvements, terraforming options, military units, air strikes, bombardment, space travel, and more. There is not enough room to put it all in, so leave the harder stuff out if it won't hurt the plot.

Chapter Three is up! Please note that it is more than twice as long as the previous chapters. I hope people are okay with my using their screenames for random characters. If anyone has any kind of even vaguely intelligent (or better) comments on the characterization of factions, writing style, grammar, spelling, etcetera, don't hesitate to post! I really enjoyed your third chapter. I am particularly interested in seeing how you handle the Believers. Because Miriam is such a pain in the game, I think it is easy to see her as a 'one-dimensional' character, but you've given her some much-needed depth.

I understand where you're coming from, OldCodger. Right now, I'm playing as the Pirates in a mixed game. I have to keep my SE on Fundamentalism to keep a truce with the Fundamentalists so I can wage war against the Firaxians and a custom faction that I'm play-testing. And I wouldn't even be at war with my custom faction if I wasn't on Fundamentalism! But I won't let it influence my writing, I hope. Thanks for the post!

Chapter Five is up! I'm sorry, the interview isn't in it. However, it will be in chapter six- I'm almost done writing the draft. I'm sorry for the delay, but I've been busy. I got my learner's permit on Thursday! (So try to avoid empty parking lots.)

Lovely! Seems like SMAC and SMAX are inexhaustible supplies of good reading! Haven't seen as many good stories as this since the days of "X-COM UFO-defense"!
