250,000 people die in the World every day. 3,000 just from malaria. 500 or so have died from SARS. SARS is a media event.
As for why more people die in Canada and China (and none in the US), maybe take a look at the health care available. Just an idea.

Um, ok. You should probably tell that to the people in Canada on waiting lists to get simple surgeries.

Well, I don't think your facts are accurate. I see no reason to believe that Canada had people return with this earlier than we did. Do you believe that there are more Canadians traveling around than Americans? I know this jibes well with current prejudices, but I doubt it is really a fact.
In any case, you would think we would have had at least ONE person die.
Its odd to me that foreigners, whenever we succeed at anything, want, as a last resort, to attribute it to "luck". Yes, I guess we have been remarkably "lucky".

Btw, tidbit of important info...the Chinese has a dozen cases of people who survived SARS readmitted for SARS again. They have been reclassified with other illnesses. That's a biggy.

Ok, here we go, we are withholding the cure out of our usual evil intentions.
Yes, give us oil and we will tell!

My point, dear UR, is that we've had no one die. Surely you understand the difference between being alive or dead?
