what's so funny about the pope being a lefty? I admit that I really don't pay attention to what the pope does. I may have been baptised a catholic, but I'm no longer a catholic (unless I have a girlfriend who is catholic ). I really don't know **** about the pope, and usually ignore him when he speaks. The catholic religion disgusts me.

cyclotron: What you have to understand about Saddam is that his primary want in life was to be the boss. It wasn't to make people suffer. The Iraqi people's lives weren't so bad before the first Gulf War. It was sanctions and bombing that killed 500,000 Iraqis. Nobody is saying Saddam wasn't oppressive. He certainly had a campaign of ethnic cleansing going on. My point about his self-serving interests was to show that he wasn't a fanatic willing to die for his beliefs like OBL. Self-preservation was his number one priority.

It's important to understand how your enemy thinks. And so many people don't.

take a look at how the church is funded and organized. And they do seem to care more about poor people than most conservatives, wouldn't you agree?

Nobody ever said being religious means you are conservative. My position is that religion or somebody's religiousness has little or no bearing on their political beliefs.

I just think you need to chill Fezzy Wezzy. Sometimes, somebody will make a comment with no ill will, and you take it the wrong way. You've got to give people the benefit of the doubt.
