*Capture Hammerfest . We might want to construct an AA battery there.
*For the rest: kill as many Finnish units in the open, but I'm not going to assault them yet, because the southern fronts must get priority.
*Maybe I'll build an airport in Archelansk so we can get 2 convoys to Baku and Grozny per turn or 1 convoy and 1 siberian or other troop to my front
*Build up the defense. (KV-1's so the Finnish won't capture any of my cities in the next winter)
*Do the STYOM trick: build 1 pe-bomber in the UK, move a destroyer under it and kill as many submarines as possible then.

PS You might want to build a fighter instead of a pe-bomber, because they also have range two, and they can attack the German bombers which from time to time fly by!

It sure is a glorious month for the Rodina.
With the capture of the first piece of German soil, the war is being transferred to the German homeland instead of the Russian one.

*Soviet troops managed to capture Hammerfest. All inhabitants of the city cheered at the soviet liberators and many of them secretly had a poster of our glorious marchall H Tower. In the entire city now hang posters of our marchall and the soviet flag proudly waves over the city hall.
*The Finnish were massacred again this month. 3 Finnish infantery in the woods and marches of inner Finland were killed. 2 divisions armed with feldhaubitzes were also killed, including one division who had foolishly parked herself outside Viipuri.
*Convoy reaches the shores of the Kola. It has now parked itself on a mine so it won't be destroyed by a German plane or ship.

Did the Recon flight reveal anything interesting?

Is Hammerfest empty? Can we get reinforcements over there or is the air threat too great?

I don't think that we can get reinforcements there. The Germans do have a lot of planes in Norway.

For hammerfast I reccomend selling everything and setting the citizens to get the most arrows possible. Milk the city for every dime it's worth before germany comes back

Have we got enough planes on this front? If so, you could (!!!) try to keep it, by using the fighters as anti-air raid defence, and launch a new offesnive next winter to take Norway. I know that this is risky, but it could make a large difference for the convoys coming from the UK. I don't say we should do this, I just say we should consider it and discuss it.

Good job getting those needed convoys through, soon we will be swimming in capitalist dollars like the capitalist cartoon cartoon character, Scrooge McDuck.

With the planning of offensives on other fronts, and this area secure, I think we could stay on the defensive, or if not, attack the Finns, and be willing to lose Hammerfet. The rest of Norway should wait until the Finns are done, secure the region and the flanks before advancing into the Scandanavian penninsula.

I agree, comrade PinkyGenovitch, but if we lose Hammersfest, the offensive against Norway will have gotten a serious setback! If we want to take Norway next year, we should try to keep the city. If we won't try to take Norway next year, we can afford to lose it, and concentrate on Finnland. This country is annoying for both the Murmansk and the Baltic front, and once taken will free many troops for other duties.
But again, all depends on comrade Yopovs plans for next year: will he try to take Norway or not?

I was under the impression that the Hammerfest capture was just a raid, in order to ease the convoys getting through by temporarily removing a Nazi air base.

I am not saying abandon the city, but if Yop would rather send units to defend or attack against Finns, or to hunt subs, then I consider Hammerfest secondary, particulary since we are busy selling its improvements. It's loss would not truly be a setback, since when we conceived the operation, we did not plan on holding it.

Of course, the decision is utlimately in Yop's hands, as its his fronts and knows what he can hold or not hold.

I say we focus on the Finns for now. They are more dangerous than the Germans on my front.

I was also thinking about launching an attack against Helsinki even this summer. The Baltic commander and I must however first make some deals. (e.g. the transport ships that are needed in the action, or the production of Katyushkas in Leningrad which then will be used against Helsinki, etc.)

Ya thats a fact! I tried to take Helsinki in the late game (Late '43 I think) and those 88's sometime took at least 2 katyusha's! Each one!

*2 Finnish infantery killed in the marches of inner Finland. 1 Feldhaubitze battery who was besieging Viipuri has been destroyed.
*1 sub near the UK destroyed. Murmansk is packed with convoys. (7 convoys) 1 convoy was airlifted into Grozniy this turn.
*Heroïc cossacks attack Narvik and manage to kill a German He-111 bomber squadron. They are now outside the city walls, vulnerable to a German counterattack, so they are expected to be lost next turn. These men must however always be remembered as heroes of the Soviet Union. I salute you.

What about those freighters that brought the convoys in the first place? Can't those deliver the convoys, or have they already been disbanded?
