Why was Magneto such a wuss? Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I mean, couldn't he have wrapped himself in metal and used his control over magnetism to turn himself into a giant inducer? Control over magnets is all well and good, but personally, I'd like to be able to shoot lightning bolts out of my arse.

Oh, I don't imagine he'd look like a homosexual if he had metal wrapped around himself, particularly if he had shoulder spikes. He'd just have to make sure to keep the metal-to-leather ratio pretty high, that's all.

Really? I've never seen him use it on any of the cartoons. He just does **** like, y'know, throwing hunks of metal at people, or attacking people with dreaded "magnetic waves" ("Oh no! My braces!"). I'll admit to never having read any of the comics, though.
