	Thoughts on RP and GS Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

We are in an interesting situation right now.

On the one hand we have plans to defeat RP with ND. On the other hand we need to take care of GS if Vox is unable to.

RP has lately shown interest in involving itself in the war with GS. Their MPP with us has made them feel safe (apparently) from an ND attack and obviously know that GS is a team that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible.

RP's involvement in the GS can serve 2 ends: 1) it will divert forces from their homeland 2) it will contribute to hurting GS.

Our latest map shows that there is a 3-tile space between the coastlines of Estonia and Southern Bob, just a few spaces from Madrid. That makes RP able to ferry troops quickly to GS if need be. According to what I've been told by RP, they have 1 galley and will finish another in 2 turns. Those are 4 units which can be ferried rather quickly considering the proximity.

We are 4 turns from being able to trade Feudalism. RP will of course want it, and we have no reason not to give it (although if anyone has any ideas...). They can send some Med Infs which would be pretty sweet.

Once we get Chivalry however, our warmongering plans will go full swing. That is the moment to strike at RP, not a moment too soon or too late.

So, my idea is:

- Get RP to commit to war with GS. As long as they send a constant stream of units, the better.

- Get Chivalry, attack.

My problems:

- How to keep us committing as little as possible as we hoard units for the Rider upgrade?

- How to not necessarily damage our rep with GS? Can we claim those horsemen were mercenaries? We can also said we wanted to lure them into making a major public protest which they didn't do.

I still wonder why RP insists we do this together. The MPP covers our backs pretty sweet, if anything they should be doing some heavy dealing with Vox which according to them they have done.

So. Ideas....lots of them...this might very well be the defining moment of the game.

I would very much like to get RP involved.
My gut tells me GS is winning the war against Vox.

In the saves & updated maps Vox sends us, I see no cities taken, and very little pillaging.

I think we need RP in the war.

Also, as we are required to resell Chivalry to GS, we should slow down our research as much as possible.
What was the deal...any loopholes ?
ie do we have to go max research ?
Do we have to sell it to them as soon as we finish it ?

Selling Chivalry to GS will ensure Vox destruction.
War Chariots -> Knights.....Vox will not be able to survive.

AFAIK there is no agreement to have to sell Chivalry. If anything, we may make them believe that we will, and at the last moment, SCREW YOU, and since they will not be doing any research...

What I don't want is this little adventure to take away our effort from the RP war, that's my only big worry

We do not have to sell Chivalry to GS, it will however drain them instantly of 200 gold. That is 3 Horseman to Rider upgrades plus some change for us.

If we sell Chivalry to GS for 200 gold we should have a deal to give Vox Chivalry the same turn, mayb ein return for letting us have that one city with the incense resources?

Vox is losing the war.
If we give GS Chivalry...it will mean their end.

The way GS micro-manage...I doubt that even a ND/GoW alliance would break them.

I would rather lose 200g, get a reputation hit, just to give Vox a chance.

And really... the onlt team who will consider us untrustworthy would be GS.
RP & Lego are both on Vox's side, and ND is our partner.
Those 3 teams will understand why we didnt on-sell Chivalry, and will agree with our decision.

I totally agreee with H_E.

If we give Chivalry to GS they will kick Vox's ass. Regarless if we give it to Vox, Vox's army is based on Immortals not on horses, so it is pretty much useless to them. On the other hand GS would upgrade those WC and could probably smash Vox quicker than anyone can imagine...

From memory..Vox dont even have horses.
I read somewhere, that they were trying to get ND to sell them some.
