	E-mail warning system buggy? Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Okay, I don't know how many times now I've commented on it... but this time I'm actively keeping an eye on it.

1) I'm only getting warnings for about half of the new messages...
2) the my threads list shows read/unread incorrectly...

Is this system just having problems since Settler II or am I just having issues again?

Also, when I start checking my threads do the e-mails stop coming?

I don't have problems with the e-mail notification, but I do have problems with the readed/unreaded threads.
I just look at one it keeps the red envelope

Yes, I too have received email notification prior to me noticing that there's even a new post (while I'm currently in the forum)......Maybe the notification is sent out first and then after the notice is sent, the new post is recorded on the forum...though it seems ass-backwards to me...

Oh, and by-the-way, I too have a lot of heartburm with me visiting "new posts" only to have them still show up as new!

are you visiting the forums via http://apolyton.net/forums ?

try using only apolyton.net, not apolyton.com or www.apolyton.net or even worse your ip

I'm usually visiting via a working e-mail alert... and then find that other e-mail alerts haven't been sent by clicking on the my threads link.

Now that all of my e-mail is done I've counted up the e-mail alerts vs. my threads list...

I got 7 e-mail alerts just today while when I go to my threads there's another 6 that are marked unread... I haven't read them but I'd think I should have gotten e-mail alerts regarding them...

I don't empty my browser cache... but I have it set up to check for changes every time I go to a page... so cache shouldn't be a problem, right?

Also, yes, recently there has been this big of a discrepency.

There it is again! I got this thread updated... but on the my threads page I have five unaccounted for threads that have been responded to without e-mail alerts.

Correction... now four... one e-mail came in... however the other four are already between other read messages...

Edit: It seems to be localized in the AC-Demo game threads I'm subbed to thus far...

Here are the latest three that I have yet to receive an e-mail update on:

Now I have 4 from CtP Multiplayer and 1 from ACDG that didn't e-mail... these occured through the night, so it's not like I was actually on 'poly the whole time.

maybe the problem lays with your isp or so , .....

set up a free email account at yahoo or so and send your mail to there to see what happens , ....

ugh... I've heard horror stories about yahoo and the like (about messages bouncing, etc.) no thanks.

It should work with this address... it's a .Mac address after all... I have to pay for.

just to try and see what it does , ... it should not bounce , there are several people who have it and use it for poly without problems , .....

and it should work on a .mac also , ....

sometimes it does take time , a couple minutes before its there , sometimes even up to 10 min , but thats it , ....

well... it seems to have corrected itself, though now I'll probably habitually check the my threads section for descrepancies... if it works 'till tomorrow night (probably last post on 'poly 'till then) I'll know it's working again (good test that way too... long period of time, etc.)

edit ; a notif came in at 21.25 from a post done 20 minutes before , .....

sometimes to many messages come inside , even when off line you get four or five emails from a thread the next day
